Stanton hit a 2 out, 0-2 pitch to left center to end a NY comeback from a 5-0 Mariners lead. Gregorius kept NY alive with a 2 single ahead of Stanton's HR. Chapman, 3-0, 1.10 ERA, got the win in relief. Judge had 3 hits.

Loaisiga started and allowed 3 runs, 6 hits, 2 BB, 4 K through 3.2 innings. Shreve relieved Loaisiga in the 4th and gave up a 2 run single. Next inning Shreve gave up 2 runs of his own on double sandwiched between a pair of singles.

Yankees' Luis Cessa: Slated for spot start Wednesday

Cessa is scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Mike Mazzeo of the New York Daily News reports.

The Yankees don't have an opening in the rotation, but with manager Aaron Boone eager to build in an extra day of rest for CC Sabathia and have the lefty start a game during the series with the Red Sox over the weekend, Cessa will enter the rotation as a temporary sixth starter. Boone said that Cessa, who has made all four of his appearances out of the bullpen this season, will likely be capped at around 70-to-80 pitches Wednesday

Cessa spent much of the season on the DL. He pitched 3 times in April and most recently against TB on 6/22 for a total on 6 innings in relief.
