They should give Young the Heisman for 2006 right now after that showing. He and Bush are really special athletes maybe the best two at their positions ever.

I think vince will seriously consider coming out now. His draft stock will never be any higher. When saunders asked him if "HE" would be back next year to defend the title, he said "WE" will work hard in the off-season and be back next year. He had the opportunity in front of all those Texas fans and his teamates and coach to announce that he will return in 2006 and he smoothly side stepped the question. I think he will come out. He has until Jan.15 to declare for the NFL so we will know soon. What a great game!!! Good call petey on that 4th&2, you arrogant prick!!!

really no reason for him to come back, this guy is Micheal Vick except he's an even better passer, I really hope my Bills can land him, I'd take him over Leinart in a heart beat.

I think the USC dominance may be over for awhile now, they'll lose alot of players to the NFL, and you'll see the effects of losing Norm Chow kick in now that Leinart and Bush are gone. SC will still bring in great talent, but they're starting to lose recruits to ND, and losing stud players like Harvin to Florida....

He is a talent but mechanically he is awful. Slow sidearm delivers don't work in the NFL. I don't see him excelling in the NFL at QB unless he changes that delivery.

Don't worry, they can work on his mechanics in the NFL and he will excel. That guy is a player. Last night was unbelievable.

I'm kicking myself in the ass for going to bed when USC was up by 12. If I'd have known what was to come, I would have stayed up. 4:30 in the morning comes awfully quick, though.

NO NO NO!!!

Michael Vick = Kordell Stewart with ESPN hype in the new millenium. Most overrated player in the history of football. I love when the Bears play Atlanta. Vick is neither hot, nor cold. Therefore he is lukewarm, so Brian Urlacher spews him out. They beat them in the GA Dome and they beat them in Chi Town this year. Bring him on.

Young is bigger, an even better runner and yes, a better passer. His improvement from 04 to last night as a passer has been remarkable.

Vick is as good as he's going to be. A running back in sheep's clothing.

Did anyone catch Leinart's comments last night? He said something like, "I still think we're the better team, we just couldn't tackle tonight" That's not a direct quote, but it's pretty close. The better team was Texas because they won.

I did catch that comment also. That whole team is just a bunch of arrogant pricks. For him to say that they are the better team was almost as ridiculous as Skip Bayless saying that USC should have been a 17 favorite in the game. Leinart, you better get used to losing, because you are going to be doing an awful lot of it in the NFL.

Petey is an arrogant prick, but he didn't have a choice. Vince Young was going to score from 50, 80 or even 99 yards out, so Petey had to try and keep the ball away from him.

While I agree, the clock was at just over 2 minutes and making him go 99 yards > making him go 50. I think Texas runs out of time if they have to go 20+ more yards.

Leinart's comments were from a guy that had lost as many games in three years as he had in the last three hours: ONE.

He doesn't handle losing very well. If he talks that way about his teammates in the NFL, he'll end up like another Pac 10 lefty that talked sh*t about his teammates and is standing outside of the Playboy Mansion gates and is no longer in the NFL at all: Cade McKnown.

You go for it on 4th and 2. They hadn't stopped SC in the second half all night. Carroll knew that if they punted, Young would get the ball back. He had to take a chance at making the first to end the game. It was the right call with the best offense ever at his disposal. I'd hardly call him arrogant for that. But for a lot of other things, yes. He should have taken the field goal early, ala CW.

Did Carroll seem almost relieved after that game?

Those guys acted like a bunch of cocky @ssclowns, but the offense backed it up. Their defense couldn't do anything. Got a couple of turnovers, but that was it.

Petey had that "I don't want to give the ball back to them look" on his face. They couldn't stop Young all night. I always find it amazing that players say stuff like "I still think that we are the better team, they just made more plays". Well if you are the better team Leinart, then why didn't you win? The better team converts 4th and 2. The better team does not let Young waltz into the endzone two straight times in the last 5 minutes. They are a bunch of arrogant pricks, but if you were on a team that won 34 straight games you probably would be too. SC losing almost makes me feel better. Texas was the better team which is the reason they won. So, I don't really understand how Leinart could say they are the better team when they had their chance to prove it on the field but came up short.

Lost in all of this, is the play by Mr. Arrogance himself, Reggie Bush. After a great catch and run, the moron decides, well I'm so good I am going to try to pitch the ball. Nice call Mr Heismann. Everybody saw who the real Heismann should have been last night.

If I'm an NFL GM I leave both Young and Lienart on the table. I finally saw what Jiggs has been saying about Lienart. Dude doesn't have NFL arm strength.

If Leinart gives it everything he has the hardest he can throw is a humpback line drive (to use a baseball phrase). A receiver that is considered in covered in college football is wide open by NFL standards. Leinart=Cade McNown (did I spell it right)

Yes Young's passing has improved. He now has the ability to hit open receivers. Congratulations. That doesn't make him ready for the NFL.

I'd trade down get some extra picks in upcoming drafts because next draft I'm going to need trade up to get Quinn.

Quinn struggles against good defenses and struggles with the short touch passes (i.e.-to the fullback or RB in the flats). He'll have to address that this offseason. I think he will be the top pick next year. I just think Young is coming out this year.

Agreed.

Do we know who is DEFINITELY coming out for the Trojans? I know that Leinart can't come back to USC due them not accepting 6th year Techno/ Break Dancing students, but has Bush, White, Jarrett, Smith said that they are making themselves eligible?

What does everyone have to say about Leinart when talking about his attributes?

Accuracy. Leadership. Arm strength NEVER comes up when talking about Matt Leinart. He can't make all of the NFL throws.

I'm telling you right now, Jay Cutler from Vanderbilt is the best PRO prospect in this year's draft. With Leinart's intangibles, Cutler could be a stud in the NFL. If Young comes out, Houston will be pressed to take him. He's still a project, but a good investment.

Quinn and Omar Jacobs are my favorite 2007 Draft QBs.
