Now that Clausen and Tate are gone, the offense will fall on the backs of Dayne Crist and Michael Floyd, most likely. Meaning that they will probably be the big playmakers. We all know what a talent Michael Floyd is. If (I realize that this is a big if) Crist is ready for primetime, then Floyd should have another great season. However, we might find out that we did, in fact, have a decided schematic advantage this year. Imagine this..........Crist looks really sharp. Again, we all know what a great talent Floyd is. But there really isn't anyone else that has shown outstanding skills, at WR. This year, when that situation came up, Golden Tate had a phenomenal year. Now, that could be because Clausen and Tate are just that good, or it could be that Charlie outschemed the defenses that were gameplanning to shut Tate down. If Crist looks good next year, and Floyd has a so-so year, because teams just double him constantly to take him out of the game, then will people be willing to admit that Weis' offensive acumen was/is outstanding?

The thing with crist is along with a good arm he can run and run over people, so its going to be difficult for defenses to stop him. Throw floyd and rudolph and shaq in there, watch out!

IF the O line holds up there will be little drop off production wise... Crist, Evans, Ragone, Rudolph, Goodman, Allen and Riddick make a nice base even without Floyd as a main option

the key will be the line... if they come together watch out... it'll be this season all over again on offense

It seems like we did not get enough of those two. I mean in a flash they were gone. Sad we did not get a fourth year out of them to see if we could go deeper in the win column and to a BCS. I will miss watching them both play for the Irish.

I hope so, but with a new coach you never know what Offense they will bring to South Bend.

It's looking more and more like the kind of offense that throws kickers under the bus, on national TV, when they don't make career long FGs on a sloppy field.

If we get Kelly for HC, I think we'll do fine, he knows how to develop talent, The Shaq thing is you never know. A lot of people on here, prior to this year didn't know if Clausen was going to be good this year.

So you never know how good someone is going to be until they reach their potential...... The only thing that scares me if Floyd gets hurt again next year, that seems to be a concern for us...........

the key to everything will be the offensive line....we lose quite a few guys there this year, but I certainly was not overly impressed with them this season, so I welcome change anyway. If that O-line is strong, I think there is little drop off in our offensive production, provided we have the right man at the helm - I think Brian Kelly will coach the talent he has and get the most out of them (assuming he is the next HC of course).

right on. Especially with a young QB like Crist we have to be able to protect him so he can have the time to learn with out getting pummeled.

Whoever comes in will find a stable of backs with big potential, I see us running to win matched with a big play type passing game. It will have to be done without much defensive help. If the new coach is BK he will be smiling when he sees our backs-I hope he keeps Alford and Verducchi.
