I was listening to Power Hour and there is something I don't understand. We have Clausen (5 star), Sharpley (4 star), Jones (4 star), Frazier (4 star) and Crist (4 star) as our quaterbacks. Where the hell are the wide receivers? You come here, as a wr prospect, you are going to have a great quaterback to throw to you, a great offensive line to make sure you get the ball, a great tight end to draw double teams away and one of the best offensive minds in football!!!! Are these kids just not understanding? Alexander picks FSU, who is going to throw the ball to you????? It's just crazy, if I were Baldwin, Butler, Floyd, Robinson, I am signing on immediately especially since ND missed on Little and Benn last year. It just doesn't make any sense.

I agree this is mindboggling!Stovall was good freshman year and then nothing until Weis gets there!Jeff S. nothing until Weis,Rhema best year of his career last year!Fasano and Carlson excellant t.e.'s under Weis!Yeatman,Fauria,Rueland,Rudolph, and Ragone!Benn-fool-Little-fool!We had better land FLoyd and Butler this year,or something is really wrong!

The other end of it is that you have to look at schools that are going to throw versus run more, now that we're loaded at RB, that could be a concern. As well, some prospects also look at where they can make a big impact, start playing early, or get noticed. There's definitely a symbiotic relationship between QBs and WRs, in that if one does well, both look good, but if one does poorly, both look poorly. I don't know how this would factor into looking at other schools over ND - I'm as mystified as you are

It is a bit of a mystery and ND has caught some bad luck getting some of the top WR's in the last few classes but what also has happened is that alot of the top guys of late also haven't been students that could get into ND narrowing it even further.

I think you guys may be underselling Goodman, although I do think we will land another quality WR. Ya'll need to show some patience.

just another point that goes to show a LOT of these kids go where they wanted to go to begin with regardless...

dont get me wrong, I love Goodman, I think he was a great get. But, when I look at speed wide receivers, I just don't get it. I mean look at all of the wide receivers that go to the NFL underrated because of bad quaterback play in college. CW made Stovall a day one pick in one year, Shark would have been a first rounder, that was only a three star. You are going to have a quaterback mentor working with the most talented quaterbacks, it just doesn't make any sense to me.

I like the pickup of Goodman but I don't see him as that difference maker that makes other teams worry. He could like Samardzija end up being much better than we think but from what little I've seen he does look quite athletic but not very explosive/quick and fast. He's by no means slow but not really enough of downfield threat that makes the defense cheat towards him which in turns free's up others. I see him, Parris, Jackson and Kamara as more possession WR's. I think in time Golden Tate will prove to be that special type that defense's have worry where he is at all times but I think it make take him a couple of season's before he gets there but we will most likely some flashes here and there.

We land baldwin and floyd
I hope so, Floyd is helluva player and Baldwin is a player I really like and would give ND the type of player that had in Samardzija IMO. He's not as acrobatic as the Shark but he's as fast and stronger.

We have a lot of WRs, but only Grimes has played some. Only one of them have proven that they should start based on last year. Why wound any WR not want to come to ND with the QBs? I don't get it either. We have a lot of good WRs and it was great to land a local 4-star WR.

Baldwin and Floyd would be a nice wrap to WR recruiting, but I'm not convinced we are ahead with either of them. Baldwin said he favors Pitt right now and grew up a Michigan fan. Floyd has been flirting with Florida.

As far as current WR, I think it is a week position for us. The two with the most promise are the incoming Freshman. Never thought of Grimes as anything more than a third WR ... decent but not great. West is also one of the #3 types. Parris has potential, but is unproven, as is Gallup. We need some gamebreaker WRs in this class.
