And if we can get another Sam Hartmann +/- .... would we care if Angeli or Minchey leave? Carr is the likely future of the program and one of those guys might leave anyways.

Next years schedule seems to be very winnable. Hopefully Freeman takes more charge of this program and figures out the War Daddy issue and game management. Next year is a great chance to get back into the Top 10 and CFP territory. We screwed the pooch this year.
I wouldn't care. CJ will then be a true sophomore and I believe EE by the time he'd be the guy.

Maybe one of them. Probably not both. Flip side: Do you roll into A&M next year with a QB who's never played meaningful minutes, just to keep Angeli and Minchey on the roster?
You absolutely bring in a transfer and most likely the lesser of angeli or minchey leaves if they have starter or nfl aspirations … I believe minchey has the higher upside so you hope he’s better.

We might finish top 10 in points scored
52nd in total yards/game, 48th in passing yards/game, 55th in rushing yards/game, 17th in points/game...11th in passing efficiency, Red Zone offense 33rd, Passing yards per completion 20th

62nd in 3rd down conversion, 34th in completion %, Turnovers lost 24th, 72nd in Time of Possession !!!...

The offense based on this is very odd and underwhelming, especially with the kind of QB we have.

With thd 3rd down conversion, and TOP numbers, its the playcalling...its been terrible on 3rd down...we have 2 good TEs in Evans and Staes and not utilizing enough on 3rd down...

Defense has scored multiple tds and given us many short fields for tds

Are any of them good though?

Simeon Barrow (DT) just entered. He has better career stats than Mills. Doesn't grade out as well as Mills, but he could be a nice addition for the DT rotation next season with Onye, Rubio and Hinish.

Thing about Hart is he’s had 3 shoulder surgeries. He’s stated he wants to leave after this year and may end up doing enough to be a mid round pick. I have zero doubt he will declare.
Yea, definitely outta here with those shoulder injuries.

You two have not been paying attention to Harts NFL stock. I have seen multiple reports that Hart is on the rise on draft boards. He is listed as a top 100 draft pick on majority of draft boards. If his medicals pass, due to his shoulder, he is a lock as a day 2 pick. He has size 6’2” and should test really well if not off the charts for his size. He is also putting out great film this year.

Long story short don’t expect Cam to be back in 2024. If he can stay healthy the remainder of the year and his medical checks out Cam Heart will be a day 2 pick with an outside chance as a late first round.
Best case/Worst case: 3rd Rounder/5th Rounder

It feels like ND is doing their best to engage as many players as possible to keep them engaged in meaningful plays. Last week against Pitt at least 5 TE’s participated and so did 5 RBs. Can’t keep track of how many DBs saw action and everyone who played seemed to make a play here and there. Almost perfect game minus two ints and one dropped pass.

Touch wood we don’t seem to have a dog house any more. That was a lame concept of BKs.

So let’s add who preserves an extra year of eligibility as well. Do we have any updates on anyone leaving for the portal or for the draft?

Latest projections have Estime out of the top 7 RBs and sitting in the 4th to 5th rounds. Cross and Fisher showing up in round 5 and Sam squeaking into round 7. Watts not showing up or Mills. Most of them could improve draft stock with another year. While I’d like to see some new more athletic blood on the D a lot of these guys (Kiser, Bertrand and Watts) would be missed.

So who is invited back for a 5th or 6th year and you will not be invited back? Rank invitee priorities. How many more departures?
