On their most recent podcast, the II guys talked briefly about the Portal this off-season for ND.

Prister believes ND will exceed the number of transfer they brought in this year (8), and that he expects "significant" roster transformation - more-so than last year.

He touched on it briefly but from what he is hearing and what he expects, there are many seniors with a season of eligibility remaining that won't use it. Most just want to move on and try their luck in the NFL.

They spoke nothing of underclassmen, but you have to figure that there are some current juniors that likely won't be a part of the program next season.
i got a vibe they know who the qb target list is

I mean... Pratt. Leonard. Buchner.
Does Brett Gabbert at Miami of Ohio have another year? (who knows anymore). He might be worth a look.

If Parker is the OC we may not need a transfer. No pre snap reads, no motion, no audibles. A monkey could run his offense, CJ Carr will be ready lol.

I think its highly likely Parker is the OC.

Freeman doesn't have the killer instinct to make the tough personnel call and Savvy Jack will convince him that next year is Parker's "Get Right Year".

I have my doubts, but you dont know that for sure. MF goes above and beyond to praise everyone he's in contact with (Jack, Father Jenkins, every coach, etc.) So it wouldn't surprise me if the wool is over his eyes a bit, but no one knows for sure and he does want to win big - that much is clear. So I don't think we know he doesn't have the stones yet..

If freeman/jack don't realize Parker alone is why we aren't going to be in the CFP, then we have a bigger issue. It's so painfully clear. Parker should be coaching for his job the next 5 games. There's no reason not to due a national search for an OC again. If parker does great the last 5 games, he can be part of that search

Parker and Independence scheduling. Just posted in Pitt thread, but didn't realize we have two BYEs after week 8 (lol).

No one breathing believes we're not 7-1 if those BYEs are spread out in any normal fashion and we get a break before Louisville.

Parker not here and/or non Independence scheduling and we're still playing with hopes of a 2023 national championship.

If Parker does great these last five games it’s delusional to think Parker is going anywhere or some search will be conducted. This board was belly aching about Rees too but look at him now.

To be fair the board (and fan base) has been bellyaching about Rees since 2010. It's what we do. Parker's got a long way to go before inducing Reesian levels of angst.

Well maybe most of these whiners don’t know what they’re talking about. I’ve been frustrated at times with his play calling but I also see some really good things.

The real test will be to see how he does when Hartman is no longer here. Given he isn’t a disaster these last five games.

I saw a good deal of improvement from Louisville to USC. I think it's stating the obvious the WRs need to get more involved, but overall, I think Geraldine is getting better every week.

I do wish that our coaching staff weren't learning on the job, but here we are.

It's still October. I personally won't give a shit about the answers to any of these questions until the time comes.

Do we have the available slots to allow any of these players to return and would everyone who is interested be invited to stay? It’s interesting to see who is being kept off the field because of the more tenured players. I like JD and Kiser as they seem like good tacklers but they are unspectacular. Like a better Joe Schmidt. D seems to be stacked and WR and TE group should be improved. Losing Estime would be tough but Love runs hard and is a more explosive dangerous runner imo. QB decision gonna be wild. If we bring in a transfer (and we should) Angeli probably leaves for some mid to lower level program.

I am confused…. “… belly aching about Rees too but look at him now.” What does that mean? I look at Rees and he has the same bad offense at Bama that he had here. He is proving ND fans like me that wanted him gone right. It was laughable the analysts that said BK was holding that kid back.

ND is 17th in the country in points per game. And every team has played some ass teams and we didn’t run it up against USC.

Is there room for improvement? Sure. But let’s not act like we’re Iowa here

On today's podcast, they mentioned Pratt & Leonard as names that are going to keep popping up.

But, essentially, they all said it's all speculation right now. It's their expectation that ND will go to the Portal for a QB for the '24 season.

Bama had 350 yards of O at home vs tenn, they aren’t some offensive powerhouse, they’re like ND last year with better overall coaching. The O is doing enough now to win. Is Rees better than Parker, yes, but that’s not saying much .

I see Pratt and Leonard on a lot of draft lists. I think an argument could be made that Pratt would benefit from a year with a top team playing P5 opposition. I don't think Leonard's situation is similar.

Here's the issue if you bring in a transfer QB, does Angeli leave does Minchey leave?

We have 7 4 star wrs on our roster…

Some have panned out, some haven’t, some are injured and some are freshman. Many fit in a few of those criteria.

It sucks that the talent is minimal but that’s where we are at this season, despite all the four-stars.

Maybe one of them. Probably not both. Flip side: Do you roll into A&M next year with a QB who's never played meaningful minutes, just to keep Angeli and Minchey on the roster?

And if we can get another Sam Hartmann +/- .... would we care if Angeli or Minchey leave? Carr is the likely future of the program and one of those guys might leave anyways.

Next years schedule seems to be very winnable. Hopefully Freeman takes more charge of this program and figures out the War Daddy issue and game management. Next year is a great chance to get back into the Top 10 and CFP territory. We screwed the pooch this year.

I appreciate the loyalty that some people have to Parker, but the fanbase should expect someone better. Yes, I'd expect Parker to improve compared to his first year, but Freeman should be shopping around for an upgrade
