That's a very different situation, though. Most Americans have decent-sized homes. Many Chinese have their whole families in a single room and depend on public common spaces for activity. When you add the fact that Americans can still go for walks and other outdoor things while the Chinese were welding people in their apartments, it's not surprising that the Chinese divorce rate is booming.
