247Sports is counting down the P5 (+ND) coaching jobs from 65-1. They've posted 65-16 so far.

247Sports ranks Power 5 college coaching jobs: Nos. 25-16
247Sports ranks Power 5 college coaching jobs: Nos. 35-26
247Sports ranks Power 5 college coaching jobs: Nos. 45-36
247Sports ranks Power 5 college coaching jobs: Nos. 55-46
247Sports ranks Power 5 college coaching jobs: Nos. 65-56

The criteria as they defined it is... "Let’s say you’re an up-and-coming college football coach and, for whatever reason, every Power 5 job in America opened tomorrow."

Notable (IMHO) : 7 of the bottom 20 are from the B1G. Wisconsin is too low at 26, Tennessee is too low at 18, TCU is way too high at 19, and UCLA has no business being in the top 15.

I'm trying to be honest about the ND job, and am curious what everyone's realistic take is. For example, if the ND and Georgia jobs were open, which would an up and coming coach take?

Here's my ranking of the top 15 based on what's left...

Alabama
Ohio State
USC
Michigan
Texas
Florida State
Oklahoma
Clemson
LSU
Florida
Georgia
Notre Dame
Penn State
Texas A&M
UCLA

I think that's a pretty good ranking and fair. I'd drop Michigan lower, tbh. For all of Harbaugh's clout, we're still talking about a program that struggled to fill their stadium a few years ago and has one half a national championship since the 40s. Harbro certainly has brought Michigan back to prominence, but #4 feels a bit high. Aside from Georgia, I think every program between us and Michigan in your list has won a championship more recently than the skunkbears. I think most neutral coaches would take a Clemson, Oklahoma, FSU, or LSU before Michigan if for no reason other than recruiting.

I think this is close to it. These teams have been competitive lately and have some solid fan bases out there, I'd also include teams like Tennessee, Miami and maybe a team like Nebraska or Michigan State.

As far as the casual fan, the sports commentator, the average everyday news item its still front page news, but in reality because of the restrictions and degree of difficulty to succeed etc its sunk to no better than 25 to most coaches who want to win big. The job is just too %$#@ difficult now to be in competition with the semi pro college teams. Just ask a very good coach brought to his knees by the name of Brian Kelly. I love Notre Dame but either join the MAC or give a coach a chance by letting the good kids in who are in reality football players only. The culture is a fine one just not one to winning football games like the average Notre Dame fan expects. Can you say reality check.
