I will go ahead and say Michigan. I read on a couple of websites that it looks like ESPN College Game Day will be in AA. It will be electric!!! Also, Michigan has several recruits coming in for the game that are considering ND.

Solid history lesson, nonetheless...we should still expect to beat USF.

I guess we shouldn't ignore history, but we're not the players. The past is the past and I for one, as a fan, don't really want to go around having to over sell every opponent because we've been upset in the past.

Also, I don't think naming the Michigan, USC, or Stanford games as being the most important to the season necessarily means that we have ridiculous expectations for 2011 and that we have to pull back and say, "Whoa guys, we'd better lower our expectations and take this one game at a time."

I expect us to methodically cut off USF's head in a month....a 1926 loss to Carnegie Tech be damned.

Plus, I don't think Brian Kelly will be going to Ann Arbor on Sept. 3rd to scout UM.

This x 1,000.

I don't see why he wouldn't. He did this last year when he was asked that after the season (it might have been before the Miami game) and he pointed to the Utah game and noted how that injected confidence into the team.

When Kelly wants to say something, he says something. When he wants to make a point, he makes a point. When he is ask a question, he rarely directly answers.

The whole premise was to ask (him) before the season, (and someone even said, if you asked afterward the answer would be different.)

That's what he was doing as you said, answering after the fact. And he was making an illustrative point.

To take it further, there probably will be very little debate after this season about which win was the biggest, unless we win them all, or win the NC.

Have to say Michigan. If we lose to Michigan it could really hurt momentum for the rest of the season.

The USC game is huge, but it wont be as big if we go into that game with a couple of losses already.

ESPN Gameday in AA on Sept. 10th per reports from CBS Sportsline. Also a UM alum I know is pretty much staking this as gospel.
