An update on my situation.

I leased the Mazda cx-5. Got a pretty good rate on it, steering is awesome and he has some pickup to it. So far I'm happy with my choice.

I have driven used vehicles for 30 years, got good a picking the right model and year but just last month bought a new Dodge Ram regular cab 1/2 ton with a 5.7 liter hemi. Its a beast. Put an extang full tilt cover on the bed and next step is a K&N air system filter on it to give me 15 more hsp. I'm happy with this vehicle and glad to be back in a truck. I used to drive Ford Taurus SHO's back in the day and I think this truck is more powerfull. It'll haul $#@ and anything else you need it for.

A 2000 Civic. I'm considering buying a 2006 BMW Z4 and making that my summer car, or else I'll just get a new Civic. But my current one has another 100,000 I can put on it.

I have a 2008 Mazda CX-7. Love the looks, but not excited about its performance. I've had a couple of issues with it and the standard features compared to others in that price range are lacking. Taking it in today for an emissions recall. It's paid off, so I'll drive it until it cries uncle.

Have fun with the Ram. I had one and liked everything about it but the mileage. I put a K&N on it as well. Don't buy the 15 HP increase. It's really more like 7-8, but worth it.

Definitely go for the Odyssey. It's been the top minivan for several years running now.

When my wife pops in the next couple weeks, I'll have four kids under 6. Can't imagine life without the minivan.

I'm miserably practical when it comes to vehicles, and don't really understand the appeal of pouring thousands of dollars into a heavily depreciable asset simply for "status". But if I suddenly came into a large sum of money, I'd be tempted to pick up a Tesla Model S:

A man after my own heart. I feel the exact same way and the Tesla S is one of the more likely splurge cars should I have more money than I'd ever need. That or a Mercedes G wagon.

Having said that, we own our two cars: GMC Envoy and Volkswagon Passat. My envoy is near the 90k mark and I'm thinking about trading it for something that will take 200k without issue. Something like a used Honda Crosstour has our eye right now but we have a house purchase on the horizon and we aren't making this decision until the ink is dry and we can calculate our expenses to see where we stand with savings.

We will not buy anything if it requires payments, like Randy Moss we want to pay "straight cash homie".

I have a 2001 Toyota Yaris, bought it off some old guy and it only had 33,000 km on it. Sits in the yard mostly as I get the train to work most days. Didnt buy my first car til I was 29, perks of city living i guess.

1999 Saab 9-3. I never owned a Saab before, and while mine is far from pretty, I must say I really like them. I can see why there is an affinity for Saabs and why there is such a great cult following of them. I hope to get at least another year out of it.
