To celebrate my two youngest getting baptized, a pour of Kilkerran WIP 5 Sherry Wood.

Don't be a communist. Nut up and drink Sam Summer for two more weeks like a good 'merican.

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 using Tapatalk.

Ironically, Sam Summer is one of their worst beers IMO and Sam Octoberfest is one of their best. Still, have yet to be impressed with any Sam Adams offerings.

So true, though my favorite beer of theirs so far has been the Double Bock.

Last night it was Sierra Nevada Hoptimum for me and tonight it is Ballast Point Pumpkin Down Scottish Ale with Pumpkin. Probably my favorite Pumpkin beer so far. Some nice pumpkin flavor but has some nice caramel malt notes and is thicker then the standard pumpkin beer. Probably not for everyone though.

Very good, I like it a lot. Not as much as Enjoy by love the citrusy taste to this one.

You?

Very good. I will probably buy a few more. I agree that it isn't as good as Enjoy By. I like it more then the past few anniversary IPAs though.

Last night I had a draft Firestone Walker Union Jack (with a nice burger) at an Irish pub. Good stuff.

I like it. It has a different taste to it than most stouts...maybe the pecans? Have you had this one? Thoughts?
I liked it. I found it too much to have an entire bomber though.

Sierra Nevada Hoptimum
Sierra Nevada Narwhal RIS. Just released. Feels weird drinking it this early. Definitely hoppier now (though by no means hoppy), but the hops should fade in a few months now and it is currently rather sweet though it has some nice roastyness in the finish. That also might be a product of having it after the Hoptimum.

Some Soave Classico I used to make some bolognese sauce I'm currently eating (yum).

Anybody try the Sierra Nevada Harvest Freshly Made Hop IPA?

Nope. I have been trying to find it but so far all 4 places that I have tried have not received it/won't be getting it. If you try it let us know what you think of it.

I am hoping to get Oskar Blues IPA (which is a new release for them) sometime in the next week or so.

The farther I get into the bottle (ok Rogue Stout Glass) the more roastiness and cocoa I am getting from it.

I was just about to say that I'll get it soon, but I realized I actually have some in the kitchen. My question now is: should I have it before or after a couple fingers of Four Roses Single Barrel (I do love me some sales on whiskey)

Beer first. The high proof of the whiskey can make it difficult to taste all the flavors of the beer.

Now you need to report back on the beer and on what you think of the Four Roses Single Barrel.

Lagavulin Distillers Edition 1991. Second maturation was in Pedro Ximenez casks. Really nice and rich with some great smokey peat coming through. Probably the best of the Distillers Editions that I have had.

Not a problem. It is pouring here so time for me to grab some peaty scotch.

And I definitely have plenty of time left in the night. I just started the hazy opium dream masterpiece that is Once Upon a Time in America.

Sierra Nevada Harvest Newly Developed Hop IPA

Semi light body, crisp. Nice little bite from the hops, but not overly strong. A little sweet on the nose. Fairly sweet overall. It's good, but I'm afraid I may have wrecked my palate from earlier with the wine and a few sweets to truly give a good review. Overall I'd say it's good and I'd recommend it. Very very drinkable.
