Kansas Jayhawks: Charlie Weis Q&A - chicagotribune.com

Chicago Trib

How do you feel about your alma mater at this point?
First of all with the players — anyone who I ever got involved in recruiting and went to the school because of our recruitment to the school being one of the reasons — you don't go to a school because of the coach, but it does factor in. You go to the school because of the school, hopefully. That being said, I'll always have a fondness and care and be there at the appropriate time (for the players).

-I still like this guy and wish him the best-

Hard not to like the guy. You can tell the man has a big heart and wanted it so badly.

Kind of upsets me about the people asking him what he is doing here when he is in SB.

He worked his *** off at Notre Dame and it just didn't work out. I think he's smart, clearly he knows football and he knows how to recruit. The only question I have is if any of the luster of being a part of all those Patriot championship teams has worn off and won't have quite the same affect on recruits.

Either way, I would love to see him excel in the Big XII and snatch up some BCS games in the process. I wish him the best of luck. He's a credit to the University of Notre Dame as both a graduate and the former football coach!

I really wish he would have worked out here. I remember being excited when they annouced he was going to be the coach. I hope he does well at KU but at the same time i think he hurt himself with all the openings at the NFL level.
