Gotta love, "It wasn't over whent the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor..." Great movie but Tommy Trojan and all the other Trojan trolls are really scraping the bottom when they have to move that far back for words of comfort. Of course, the GPA of the characters in AH would probably be an order of magnitude higher than that of the current crew at SC - and the guys at Faber took harder classes.

In fairness guys, ND fans were doing the same damn thing. Tony Dungy was a name brought up a lot. Brian Billick was brought up (puke). Nick Saban. Even Pete Carroll LOL. Go look at all the old threads on this board. Newbies came out of the woodwork with some of the most ridiculous names ever thought of. It was an embarrassment. But that's what happens when you change coaches.

Having said that, it is really is fun watching them meltdown. And now they're going to go through the same thing we went through. Coaches that you don't want saying they are interested. Big-time coaches that you want saying that they are interested, only to say no after they get a raise. Coaches that you don't want being mentioned as possible replacements. Everyone and their mommy disagreeing over who should be the next coach. Bad recruiting news daily, etc etc.

I love it personally. They talked all kinds of sh!t about our hires, and now it's time for them to take their own medicine. I am loving every minute of it...

I doubt Dungy would go to USC either, but the only Super Bowl he would go to is part of NBC's coverage. He doesnt coach anymore.

Welcome to the slippery slope of irrelevance Mr. Trojan. This first coach will do alright, but after that, unless Pete figures out he had it best at USC, its the death knell for USC football.

USC's major problem is going to be recruiting. With Carroll they could walk into any high school in the country and get guys. Hell, I even heard of some kid who committed when he was in 8th grade. That is probably done. Getting a coach and staff who can do that is like winning the lottery. Reading that forum over there, they are similar to us. The difference is that they are coming off a decade of dominance and reality has not set in. They act like Los Angeles and USC should be able to get any coach in the world because hey, it's USC and Los Angeles. Who wouldn't want to have that job? The reality of them being in the wilderness for about 15 years hasn't set in yet.
