We have to have an all around complete game. No turnovers, Win the time of possesion by at least 8-10 minutes and limit Ringer to less than 200 yards to win.

If you guys are seriously doubting our ability to win this game than I feel sorry for you, we definitely have the talent. The key is turnovers and composure, something ND showed agains scUM. I think it will be a hard fought game and I would hope that ND wins in the end, but we definitely have the ability to win.

That would be the prerequisite for a blowout IMO. We need to move the ball, tackle better and win the turnover battle again. If we do that we can win.

ND is loaded with talent all the way from the coaching staff to the player personnel. The only thing holding this team back is lack of experience. Talent wise, we have enough to compete with almost every team in the league. With each passing week the "experience" gap gets smaller.

This team should be VERY good, next season. And certainly good enough to beat MSU.

If we can take advantage of their suspect secondary it might be a long day for Sparty. If we can't fill holes and tackle, our boys are going to be seeing a lot of the back of Ringers jersey.
We absolutely need to sustain long drives, we need to run the ball, and get the advantage on 2nd and 3rd downs. Turnovers help, but don't count on 6 this time.

IMO, the most important key will be to get off the field on 3rd down. Last year, we'd get the team to the 3rd down but could NEVER get off the field. By midway through the 3rd quarter, the D was gassed both physically and mentally. Tomorrow, the defense is going to be faced with lots of 3rd and 3's and 3rd and 4's, and they MUST get off the field. If not, Ringer will wear them down and we'll lose. If we can get off the field and take care of the ball, we'll be good.

I gotta admit.....Ringer worries me.

Hopefully our OL plays great, giving JC a ton of time. With MSU reportedly going to not have a couple starting DBs, we could have a big day passing and hopefully offset anything Ringer can do.

I think TAH-NOO-TAH and his LBs are going to surprise a lot of us today. I'm betting the defense looks much better and the blitzes are much more effective than in the first two games. SDSU only used 3-step drops and the skunkbears run the spread, so blitzing wasn't going to look terribly effective against either. MSU is relatively one-dimensional and when they get in passing downs we might be pounding the crap out of their QB. If our offense can hold up it's end of the deal I think we win this game big.

Everyone in the country (except Mark May) WILL respect the Irish after a double digit victory today! The reason I am so confident is because I believe in our defense. Our D will come up with the big plays and our offense will certainly score off of the opportunities. Maurice Crum will shadow Ringer everywhere he goes and David Bruton will knock him into tomorrow if he happens to get into the backfield and Ringer will be sick of seeing #'s 40 and 27 after today.

I agree that with the talent we have we should be able to play a all round good game and win... but from what I have seen on the field the last year plus I must say objecitvely I am fully prepared for a loss... even if we lose IF we can win 1 of the next two games we are in great shape

I hope I'm wrong or our boys finally put it all together but we have to wait and see
