I was very impressed with them today, especially their offense...Who knows how many more points they would have scored with their QB healthy the whole game..(he rushed for over a 1000 yards...Their run D is solid but I think we'll have our way with their D for the most part but their offense will be hard to stop. Its an offense that depends on timing and hopefully we can disrupt that. This team is solid and anybody saying that the home opener next season against them is a gimme is out of their mind. This team can score.

After the way ND performed against a team like Syracuse this year, it would be a big mistake if they take ANYONE on their schedule lightly.

i feel ya man........ nevada runs that spread offense that is so tough to defend...... they could easily come to our house and give us fits....... i pray we find a way to tighten up our play in the secondary.

You never want to take someone lightly.
The real thing about it is we better not lose to them no matter how good they looked. We should be far better and there would be no excuse to lose

Plus we looked good in our bowl game as well, did't we?

You know they will be up to play us so we better be prepared to defend their "Pistol" offense or whatever they call it.

well our team must also have noticed that colin kaepernick is a walking highlight reel. Damn that qb is good. for the rest we ought to be good as long as we show up.

Every single play is the only play that matters. Score is always 0 - 0. I hate the "swagger" talk. Means justify ends, not the other way around. Rip their head off, keep your damn mouth shut, and get back to the friggen huddle.

Well said. The Zorich, Stonebreaker, Bolcar way. I loved watching those Defenses.

Even better if we play every play until clock shows 0:00. The "swagger" bullshit reminds me of something I read somewhere sometime: (something like) Do not seek to follow in the footsteps of those of old. Seek the things they sought."

Asking for "swagger" means to me that you witnessed some winning teams who had swagger, rather than witnessed how hard they worked. Someone on this forum mentioned putting cart before the horse...

Fu.k swagger.

I tell you what bambi most the time I can't even understand you but this time it was loud and clear. Couldn't agree more.

You got to go out there lace up the cleats, snap on the helmet, and hit the guy across from you. Then you got to hit him again, and again, until he wants to retreat. Then you got to go after his teamate, until all guys across the way want nothing to do with you. Thats how we used to do it in hs. We didn't always win but at the end of every game the team we played knew they had played that night.

I believe that if this team comes out and plays that hard every saturday, with the talent level they have,(and the schematic advantage) we should win every game aside from the sc game with releative ease. The one thing they must do is shut up and play every down or they will never be sucessful!!!!!!!

Damn you guys are talking smart. Win the battle on every play. Every time. Against every player. Regardless of the previous play. Regardless of what the next play could bring. Hit them hard enough that they will remember someone hit them tomorrow (or next week!). Pretty simple when you get right to it.

Todd Lyght, Pat Terrell - those were the good ol' days. How about Demetrius Dubois(RIP) and a little later Kory Minor? I think Trevor Laws broke Kory Minors career sack record his senior year.

No, he did not. Tuck holds the sack record...HOWEVER, that's because we did not record sacks before the 80's. There were guys on the ND team that had 2x and 3x the amount of Tackles for Loss than Abi had.

This file a bit dated since it lists Abiamiri as active

Look at Ross Browner's career TFL 77!!!

Tuck had 42.

Browner's Season record = 28

Minor does not even rank in the Top10 for that at ND.

I understand that he had the record because of the way stats were, or were not kept and there were better players before him; same can be said in the NFL. Also, he became a starter his freshman year, so he had 4 years to accumlate sacks. I threw out Kory Minor because I thought he was a hell of a player, very consistant, dependable. Plus, he went to Bishop Amat High School in La Puente, CA. I went to Damien High School in La Verne, CA - 2 catholic football rival schools....Being able to set aside our Lancer/Spartan differences, I was a big fan of his during his playing days.

Damien High School? My good buddy is a teacher at Glendora High, and he's a HUGE ND fan, biggest I know. He talks about the Damien/Glendora basketball games all the time. I also have buddies that graduated from Amat, and 2 nephews and a niece at Mater Dei. Lot of good high school sports down here!...

yep, glendora high school another ol' baseline league rival. i guess every team is a rival at Damien! Glendora basketball has been good for long time, I can remember Tracy Murray, and later Cameron Murray playing for them both had phenonomal HS careers. There is alot of good HS sports in the area, especially the catholic football schools, intense rivalrys. I went to Damien during a time when the Damien/Amat series was on a 5 year hiatus - due to excessive fights, most of which happened pregame, rofl. Both schools had football programs based on heavy discipline, but when Amat and Damien got together it was a combustible mix.
