Was the 2022 season a success and what are your expectations for 2023?

C+ Not being able to make a portal WR happen was devastating to the team. Even if Buchner stays healthy, or ND brings in a good transfer QB last offseason. Losses to Marshall and Stanford were disastrous, beating Clemson was awesome. Solid bowl win over a ranked SEC opponent. I expect ND to finish 10-2 or 11-1 (and make the CFP at 11-1).

My expectations are pretty large here,… ten wins will feel like a missed opportunity

In the end, I believe last season was a success. The Marshall, Cal, and Stanford games were absolute nightmare games for Freeman and staff. The way the team did not fold and got incrementally better as the season wore on gives me a lot of hope for the future.

Coach Freeman was a first time head coach at a major blueblood football school. For him, his staff, and the team to respond the way they did after that horrific start says a lot about his leadership. I haven't been as excited to watch an offense as I am for the Irish in 2023 since Golson was slated to come back and start the 2013 season...hope this one turns out better...
