It took you a while to admit that you are a troll. Well done.
So you USED to be a ND fan, when things were honky-dory huh? Good that you jumped off the bandwagon at the right time, when things are tough. Give me Phork any day over a clown who can't stick by his team in bad times, and then blame it on the fans who are too myopic.
Name me one fan base that DOESN'T have some myopic fans. I'm not one of those. I call it how I see it, and I've told you, I saw CW's teams were better than your boy Ty's teams. Sorry the truth about Ty hurts so much. Sorry he got fired. Go ahead and give me #'s and stats all you want. Those who watched both teams objectively know the truth.
The fact that you call yourself scoutgod even though you think a horrible coach had a better team than CW's first team is a joke. Real scouts will tell you that Ty's team was a mirage, as was evident by his worthwhile firing just 2 years later.
So, see ya bandwagoner. (Nothing worse than that, is there?) Most people on this sight aren't myopic. Hopeful, maybe. Some are downright pissed, which I don't blame them half the time. But myopic? Yeah, a few, but mostly not. You're myopic about Ty's days, but you don't see that, do you sport?
Ty was not my boy. Didn't care for him over anyone else. All I said was that CW got bank to justify his hiring.
and I am not bandwagon at all.
I was a casual ND fan because of Holtz. I am a huge Holtz fan. I loved Holtz at Minnesota and loved him at ND and loved him at USC.
I just too many examples of ND fans lowering their expectations as ND slid into being average.
I remember the uber- hype by ND fans surrounding the incredibly, almost adequate Ron Powlus.... and that hype... and think no differently of JC signing his letter on the steps of the CFHoF.
I see ND years ago kicking a last second field goal to beat Hawaii on the road and then jumping around like it capped off a perfect season... fans going nuts over average football... and saw the same all last year... and this year against SDSU, BC, and the 4th q of Navy.
I am a Yankee fan... and i HATE when they underperform. I don't make excuses or simplistic reasons... I look at the system and make realistic assesment. A fan should be the team's most realistic critic.... not a kool-aid drinking fool... or a hyper "Fire****.com" web designer.
I have coached high school and college football and won state championships and know what good football looks like. I have coached talent that has finished successful college and NFL careers and am able to see what is talent and what is hype.
I have coached Div I clinics on both coasts and I know the full perception of ND's talent level.
I know none of this will make an impression, I don't care. In all my posts all I have addressed is the fact that the ND community has an identity crisis and totally unrealistic expectations. It is a fan base that says winning close games is acceptable because "everyone brings their best against us" while excusing poor play.
