So starting QB misses class on Thursday. Doesn't have money to pay..... he sit? Next we'll see a fund raising site by students and fans to pay the fines for the players...

At Virginia Tech, fines aren't fine, despite what Bud Foster says

Virginia Tech defensive coordinator Bud Foster said Wednesday that the football program would consider taking funds from new cost of attendance stipends for players in the form of disciplinary fines.

Athletic director Whit Babcock, when informed of Foster's idea, quickly shot it down.

"It will be stopped immediately," Babcock told USA TODAY Sports.

In the past, Virginia Tech's football program has taken money out of bowl stipends for disciplinary issues such as curfew violations or personal fouls.

Also I could see coaches taking advantage of it for their benefit. Why suspend a player and hurt your chance of winning when you can fine them money.

dumbest thing I have ever heard in the history of college football.

I don't see this lasting very long and my guess is VT will get negative recruited the hell out of by ACC/rival recruiting schools bc of this.

The only fine that works is the one where they sit on the sidelines the entire game. Period.
