Vegas Odds

Just checked the Vegas line for our game against Navy. ND -16
What's crazy is that I also checked the scUM/Bama odds. Bama-14

Is it just me or does anyone else find it crazy that Vegas thinks we are only 2 points better against Navy, than Bama is against scUM?

I think with Bama they are accounting for a slow start, due to so many new starters, similar to the Penn State game last year.

I've remained consistent that UM will keep it close in the first half but Bama's athleticism and depth will take over in the second. Finally, Saban will get a lead and just grind out the clock on the ground.

Michigan has a decent shot of covering.. I don't think they do in the end though. 34-17 Tide

I'd say that's about right. That would mean Alabama is -30 against Navy. Seems right to me.

That makes sense, maybe it just seems like there should be more separation between ND and Navy, than Bama and acUM.

The line is only about getting 50% of the money on side A and 50% of the money on side B.

^exactly. The odds aren't a guess at what the final score will be. It is related to the score, obviously, but it really is about what will draw an equal amount of action on both sides.

Yep, It's all about the juice my friend. If they would have put the Bama line at say 9...85% of the money would have been on Bama, and thats not the plan...50/50 that's why lines "move"

Ya, I've been doing it for a long time. Take the Scar Vandy game tonight. 88% of the side money is on S.Car. Vegas wasn't built on 88% of people making money either. Tonight, I bet on Vandy +6.5 An old guy in Vegas told me in 2005 picture 88% of the people in a canoe on one side......That canoe will flip, you better be on the other side. That stuck with me and help me win over the years.
