Unfortunately we don't know if there is interest either way. Yeah, he said ND was his dream job in his autobiography, but we haven't heard peep from him about ND recently. Secondly, no one at ND has stated that they are interested in looking at Meyer. This whole fervor over getting Meyer is getting out of control. I personally don't think Weis is gone (even though I would love to see us get a proven coach).

Urban Meyer is not an ND man. He does not care about academics. He soft-plays discipline issues. His family would hate South Bend.

He is also very happily ensconsed in an easy job...he would not and SHOULD NOT come to ND.

I won't state my opinion either way on Coach Meyer but the hiring process, especially if it involves leaving one program for another, isn't typically a transparent one. I doubt you'll hear much out of the University or its next coach, if there is to be one, until just before the announcement.

I wonder how BD is a possibility? [Full disclosure; I'm a lifelong ND fan and a UNC alumni, so this has me torn].

He turned down his alma mater--Arkansas--last year and by most accounts he also turned down Tennessee this year. On the surface of it, as a Southerner I don't think he'd be all that happy about being in South Bend as opposed to Chapel Hill.

On the other hand the draw is pretty big. Does anyone know if BD is Catholic by any chance?

It was explicitly stated on the first page that this contract was his OLD contract and does not reflect the NEW extension he signed. The date was November 26, 2007. Show me what the new contract's stipulations are and then convince me that he would leave one of the premier college football programs in the country to come to a program which is premier only in the minds of a few delusional fans.

I find it very hard to believe that they are going to go after Gruden after he has turned us down TWICE.
