Ugly tickets

In the past four years I've gone to one game each and I've gotten two nice looking color tickets and two ugly ones. I've purchased all of them through the box office and none of them are special or unique seats. Anyone have an idea as to why I would have gotten nice looking tickets in 2011 and 2013 and more plain ones in 2012 and 2014? Are everyone's tickets like this?

Those are the "single game" tickets. If you want nicer tix, you have to either donate more, or buy the whole season package. You get what you pay for....
