UCLA-Florida State tonight

Can the Bruins keep the momentum going with a win over FSU?

UCLA is 7-5, 3-3 in their last 6 games with wins over 2 ranked teams (Oregon State and USC) and a near miss versus our Irish.

FSU is 6-6, 2-4 in the last 6. They have zero quality wins (Miami, Troy, Rice, Duke, UVA, and Western Michigan).

Looking at their seasons, you would think UCLA would have the decided upper hand. But I think it will be a close, low scoring game. I'll take the Bruins by less than a TD, say something along the lines of 20-14.

Yeah, I was kind of thinking that neither team would be able to do much against the others defense. Not that FSU has a great D, but UCLA doesn't have much offense. I think it will be a very defensive game. This could be one of those games where the punter and ST teams come up huge.

I hope that UCLA hammers F$U by at least 2 TD's! I'm still pissed about the national title F$U stole from the Irish in '93. I can't stand cry-baby Bowden at all!

UCLA is going to pound FSU. Being stuck in Florida I've been force fed FSU games this year. They are terrible. They also do not respond well to adversity. The program as a whole-They can kill teams when the train is running downhill, but at the first sign of adversity, they close shop and go home. This game means NOTHING to FSU and their fans. They are embarassed to even be in it. UCLA is riding the wave of success and they are on a mission. UCLA wins this one big.

Interested in a bet of “Irish Envy Dollars” for tonight’s game? The looser would donate the amount agreed upon to the other just to give the game a little more interest.

Yes and Yes! If you don't live in Florida, you have no idea how much I've enjoyed watching them this season. If only UF had a bad season, the perfect storm would have been complete with FSU and Duh U having terrible years.

Gator fans seem to be leaking out of every crack, yet, Nole fans have seemingly left the state.

Speaking of gator fans. Did Urban Meyer walk into a good situation or what? He inherited a team full of talent. He has QB heir apparent in Tebow on board and has gotten him meaningful playing experience this year. His biggest in state rivals are both realing. He could have his pick of the litter as far as Florida recruits go. I hate to think that he might have UF back on track to be a dynasty. I'm not saying they are there. I'm just saying that all the planets seem to be lining up for him to do so.

But he plays in the SEC and we all know it is impossible to go undefeated and win the SEC every year because the teams are better than half of the NFL teams. If he wins more than 9 games a year it will be a miracle playing in the SEC.

Seriously, he started about 4 years ahead of CW. If he doesn't beat CW to the National Championship he should be fired the minute CW raises the the Glass Football.

I don't really believe you can have dyansty in the sec because there are so many teams with about the same talent level that you have. thats why all these teams beat each otherup every weekend, but you are correct that he could not have walked into a better position at the right time with the other two fl teams playing like they are.

That might very well be true. From 1991-1996 Alabama and Florida were meeting in the SEC title game on a regular basis. Since 2000 the 2 teams that seem to be the hottest are GA and LSU. But now Florida looks poised to be good for a while. Tennessee is almost always tought. Then you throw in teams like Arkansas and Auburn making a splash here and there. It definitely is a competitive league. I know that we have a bunch fo SEC haters on this board, but year in and year out you gotta hive them props. They are almost always one of the 2 best conferences.

Well, looks like we were all pretty much wrong on this game. That's why they play them. I predicted:

1. Low scoring
2. UCLA narrow win

Instead, the game was

1. High scoring
2. UCLA got blown out

I'm still shocked. Friggin FSU has the chance to have a losing record and make my Christas complete and they decide to finally show up and play. I'll give them credit though, they played well. It wasn't all UCLA giving the game away. Uh, where did the UCLA defense go? Because they weren't in San Fran.
