I don't care when people say it because it is just such a ridiculous exaggeration.
Is it tho?

Fascism (/ˈfæʃɪzəm/ FASH-iz-əm) is a far-right, authoritarian, and ultranationalist political ideology and movement,[1][2][3] characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived good of the nation or race, and strong regimentation of society and the economy.[2][3]

It's easy to tell who had a football coach teaching their high school history classes.
We just had the POTUS saying that he refuses to bring back a legal US resident from a foreign 3rd world prison that the POTUS's own lawyers say the person was mistakenly sent to.....and the SCOTUS ruled 9-0 that the government HAS to bring him back.

but..yeah...it's an exaggeration to call it fascism.

It's objectively right wing illiberalism. Maybe it's "neo-Reactionary dark enlightenment", which is really just the American twist on fascism, the same way Nazism was a German twist. Everything from a call for a mythical previous time, the authoritarian power grab, the fear mongering about an outside enemy, the rampant militarism, and the shunning of western Democratic norms like habeas corpus are all hallmarks of fascism.

Let's see how 26 and 28 go with a recession/depression stemming from the tariff nonsense. If we have real elections, maybe it's not fascism and just another terrible administration. I laughed that off last year but I'm doubting there's another true free election again.

Don't forget the part where the administration is pressuring legal firms to swear fealty and agree not to represent clients that are targets of Trump. At the risk of their lawyers being banned from federal courthouses.

Or Trump signing an EO directing the DOJ to target two American citizens for having the gall to state the fact that the 2020 election wasn't stolen.

Or his attacks on any media that doesn't conform to his lies. Him ignoring the Supreme Court and banning the AP from the White House press corps. Him wanting CBSs broadcast license rescinded for 60 minutes giving Zelensky a platform and for criticizing his Greenland agenda. Or through DOGE him trying to strip NPR and PBS of their federal funding.

Nothing authoritarian to see here folks.

Yeah but like there was like 16 Nazi's banned off twitter, and Trump's FBI tried censoring the Hunter Biden story. So, like, that's where I draw the line.
Here is the thing..all these Trumpers/MAGA folks get so upset about the use of the term fascist that it gives them an out for actually having to defend the things above that Trump actually does...regardless of what they could be labeled as.

So for the sake of the argument...let's just say that all of the things quoted above aren't "fascist". Let's seem someone actually defend them as policy positions or actions. It's what they always scurry away from.

Ok cool, it's not "fascism"...do you agree with it?

Yeah, you live in a world of baloney and hyperbole. This is why serious people check out when someone uses the F word. Maybe you should have had a football coach teach you this stuff?

So you don't think anything happening meets that definition?

The people so up in arms now about due process for illegal aliens, use of the military to secure the border, deportation of criminals, and etc. now want to speak up??? You were silent when your party created this mess. Be quiet while we fix it.
^^^this clown would cheerlead the Reichstag Fire Decree if it was presented to him via AM radio.

Oh it's up there.
I think Communist fell out of the right’s cultural lexicon post-Obama but it was definitely thrown out all the time (or Marxist more frequently IMO) when he was the guy. Nobody really accused Hillary of being a communist lol. I think only the Sanders/Squad wing of the party really gets hit with the Communist label now.

Woke is definitely the word that gets tossed around the most now. This board is definitive proof of that

I think far left =/= communist per se, nor does far right =/= fascist. Like Rand Paul is “far right” but I don’t think you would consider him a fascist. I don’t think Joe Biden himself is far left but I think his administration was in some instances.

No. Hatred of a democratically elected President who is lawfully executing his office is not fascism. Even if a court pulled them back on a few things, it’s just a wild and bizarre take.

Biden wasn’t far left back when he was cognizant. He recognized the dangers of open borders and hollow prosecution. Then he got older and when elected- his administration was captured by far left radical staffers who drove the agenda for a senile President. Not all Dems are communists…

But if he's not lawfully executing it. What would you say then?
