I understand the market quite well. I'm just pointing out that you guys aren't serious about any of this stuff. You're having meltdowns day after day about stuff you were totally OK with or at least silent about when it happened under a Dem. You're hypocrites. You don't care about racism, the economy, foreign affairs, jobs, women's rights, or anything else. It's all just something for you to gripe about when it's a Republican and go totally deaf, dumb and blind about when it's a Dem. It's why we don't take any of you seriously.
Still a dumb dick!

The fact anyone has to take the position of “Golly we just have to see how this turns out! :3” seriously, is fucking brain dead. It’s worth it to pay the tariff than to have Kyle in Ohio making 10x per hour than some child in Malaysia.

But yeah Bish/#1 saw a twitter video from SuperPatriot so who knows how it’s going to play out lmao

Right but why are we paying for child labor, sweat shops and outright slave labor? That's why it's so cheap.

The same thing applies to US and Canadian construction, flooring, drywall, painters and roof builders who had to do something else because cheaper labor is imported in. And I sure don't see housing prices dropping because the business owners are paying foreign workers cheap wages by the day under the table .

More like, they are pocketing the difference and raising prices/profits. You can't even get a builder to build one for less than 450,000 anymore. No wonder no one can afford to buy a home anymore. It's bonkers.

Well yeah, that’s capitalism baby. It’s kind of the whole point. Some poor kid is working 18 hours a day so we can get $130 shoes. It’s a feature, not a bug. The “party of Reagan” doing this because of how great the vibes were when Tony could work at the factory without an education and still could a nice house. But still leaving intact the entire apparatus that resulted in this situation is fucking stupid. All the while deregulating everything.

Because it makes everything we buy cheaper. Are we America first or not?

You might not realize you’re seeing the savings now but prepare to see new construction increase when all the cheap labor is deported and lumber from Canada is 20% more expensive.

Maybe it is time for a reset. I'm all for capitalism but it feels we are back to Robber Baron days.

We are ok but I'm worried about the young people today. I'm worried the country. Tony AND Maria at least should be able to work at some plant and afford a decent slab house.

Thanks for the response.

Ehhh never left those days. Just happens that our material conditions are better today. We’ve allowed ourselves to be conditioned that it’s savvy that people/entities can amass incredible wealth. To do what, call themselves a meme lord or other crazy shit?

What Republicans want is socialism. They want ownership of their means of production and to have greater participation in the profits. Which I agree with. But their methods of achieving it is by uprooting global economics and watching their citizens get caught in the crossfire.

Everybody makes things. I understand that. But we don't seem to make a whole lot anymore. We outsource everything now. Even my Dish tech support is Indian.

The US manufactures more value today than ever before, companies just use robots and computers instead of warehouses full of people. Automation, not outsourcing, eliminated the majority of manufacturing jobs.

Trump killed a billion dollar construction project in Ohio:

Do we know for sure this is because of Trump? I ask, because they are looking to build one not far from my home. Indiana has passed legislation that makes Data Centers tax exempt for 25 or 50 years depending on the commitment. Could this be why they are holding off in Ohio?

I have to buy Diamond Gussett if I want to buy a freaking pair of jeans made in the US. Ive always had to use Trojan Magnums when having sex with women. Fortunately, THEY are at least made in New Jersey.
That's very patriotic of you! lol

Just to be clear here...bishop thinks that understanding how tariffs work is some highly specialized "skill" that requires "expertise".

I was told here a few weeks ago that Trump was restricting and reducing the reach of the government.

It's not because of Trump. The grid in central Ohio is absolutely tapped out. AEP recently put a ban on new data centers, though I can't say if that's related.

Data centers are still knocking on the door of every county in Northern Ohio for sites. Toledo area has announced two and more are expected to be announced in the next two years. If you have acreage and power, you are getting attention.
