Tonight the movie theatre I operate had over 3000 people attend for a 1201 showing of Transformers 2, despite pretty pedestrian (at best) reviews. We have a digital IMAX screen as well, and have added a 315am show to accommodate demand. Sounds ludicrous until you hear there are already 100 tickets sold for it. This film breaks my personal record for most people attending a midnight show of a new release, eclipsing Revenge of the Sith.

I, unfortunately, probably will not get a chance to see the film until deep in its run, as life does not give me many opps to catch movies that are not animated or targeted at kids 10 and under. Actually just got to see Star Trek on our IMAX screen yesterday.

Just wanted to create a thread for opinions on the film, if and when you get a chance to see it.

I know alot of posters in here might not have access to this movie, but if you get a chance check out Moon. A really good Sci Fi film with Sam Rockwell and Kevin Spacey. Think 2001: A Space Odyssey, just not as crazy, but that same kind of psychological play.

I just think it is bitchin' you operate a movie theatre. Any chance you can schedule a huge preseason screening party of Rudy for IE posters? I, for one, would arrange a trip to Katy, TX for a movie party! Would love to see Rudy on the big screen again especially with all my IE brethren. Maybe a double feature with Hoosiers too!!!

I heard Geoffrey Lyons (movie critic) say that the movie was not all that great but has it moments. Every single other review I have seen for this movie says that it absolutely sucks and is a collasal waste of time, especially since the movie is 149mins long. The reviews I have read have been brutal.

The first movie I was not excited to see, but once i saw it I thought it was pretty damn cool (i grew up in the 80's, therefore a transformer-baby, they came out when i was in 6th grade) Maybe the second movie is the same, once i see it I might like it alot. but it seems to be getting killed by critics.

Its a Michael Bay film. Shit blows up alot. Hot girl. add Transformers. Thats it. If thats what you like, this movies for you. If your idea of a great film is Slumdog Millionaire, you might wanna pass on this one.

fine asses are not enough reason for me to watch. you can put in paris hilton, kim kardashian(and the rest of those useless kardashians) in the same category. Why do ppl pay any attention to them?

At least Megan Fox is an actress, I'll give her that. But an attractive female is not enough to get me to watch.

You know....I actually like that idea. I could not do it for free, as I would have to acquire a print, get approval, etc. That said, getting 100 people to pitch in 5-10 bucks a piece....it COULD happen.

2:45 is just too long for a plotless film. I love bang-bang, blow stuff up movies as much as anyone. 2:15 is about the right length for that type of film. It will be interesting to see how it holds up into the weekend and over the fourth. It had a HUGE first day.
