I know this was just the measly Gator Bowl, but I can't help but feel a tiny, yet not insignificant monkey was taken off the back of the program. These dudes fought from the 1st snap to the very last. Down multiple times in the game, answering back each and every time. Multiple pick-6s and a concession of a ST TD, never ever giving up. No way any BK-led team would have countered as well as this team did last night. This isn't an anti-BK post. This is a pro-MFMF post. I really hope the admin can find a way to meet him 1/2 way with regards to NIL and/or the portal, because if they give this guy even an iota of help, look TF out!

I’m sure Tyree will move to slot, but still cross train for depth.
Diggs, 7, and Price should all get 7-10 touches a game especially with an experienced quarterback moving the chains.

They threw the kitchen sink at us and had 2 pick sixes. To still dominate that game, and it was a domination in every way except the score, was impressive.

Weird game, very entertaining, would've been disaster to lose the game. Incredible to give up 21 points and still win, that's typically recipe for Loss. OL in 2nd half took control. Thought D played soft all day. Coach Beamer has quite the temper tantrum act...and camera caught Coach MF F-bomb after the first pick 6. Good to end season with win....9-4>8-5, and provides momentum and good vibe for off season. Hoping they can plug a few holes and stay healthy for 2023 season, gonna be a nice home schedule.
Is there a Shamrock game next year?
Any additional transfers out?
Coaching changes?

Nice to see the comeback after that awful, awful Pass play call for the pic 6.

I think we should win 9 games next year if everything goes well.

Absolutely no sources, but this has to be inevitable and expected, no?

I think this week you’ll see a few more transfers. And I don’t think there is a Shamrock game due to the team

This was probably the longest 365 days of MF’s life. The team never quit on him and they slowly grew up as the season progressed. This team has an incredible amount of talent and they have built good depth. The coaching staff having spent a year together with no turnover could see this team flying high from the get go.

Haven’t been this excited for an upcoming season in quite some time.

If everything goes well, we're headed to the CFP. If most goes well, we're NY6 bound.

I wish that was the case, but not with this coaching staff.

Our OC makes the dumbest ass decisions. Our Defense is hardly dominant. Our HC is still learning on the job and is not much of screw-turner.
For me its not about the players, its about the staff.

You are the worst.

Oh I am sorry. Let me rephrase so you feel better.

Man that was a great called game. Season was beyond my expectations. We all know that despite being ranked Pre-Season ranked #5, this staff actually had no talent on their roster. Kelly fucked this staff big time. I am sure Kelly also convinced the geniuses of Freeman and Rees that they didn't need a QB Transfer. I am surprised the coaching staff salvaged the season with just 4 losses and somehow we are ranked again.

We knew OSU would be tough. Same too with Marshall (fighting herd right?) and Stanford was imposing and we didn't want to beat Shaw anyways. Rees was covertly trying out his offensive schemes for next year's team early! He thought he would fake out the South Carolina defense by passing into the end zone when they would be expecting a low risk run by Estime (Man he is sooo clever!! Have we given him a raise yet)????

Our defense would never quite.... always trying to limit our opponents to less than 40 points. Trust CFB domination.

While we hired Freeman based on his so-called recruiting prowess, he wanted to make sure he was viewed more than just a recruiter so he eased up the #1 class to #9 class and therefore we can all feel better, like a Hallmark Movie. We don't need 5 stars anyways. Just because UGA, Bama, OSU, USC, LSU go for them, doesn't mean a thing. Freeman can win this thing with his hands tied behind his back.

I think next year the FLOOR is CFP. (Feel better????)

You kind of have to admire someone who cranks out a post like this just to prove the previous poster correct.

Had fun on Twitter last night reading all the Cocks fans whining about the personal foul on the USC OL like that was the sole difference in the game. SEC fans (especially the mid-tier teams) are the worst. Before this year it was always “yeah, our team didn’t want to be there” when they lost. This season it’s been whining that the officiating screwed them. Hell, Hog fans are still whining about the bad calls and they won the game.

I could count on two hands the missed holding penalties on the cocks OL.

Not to mention the Irish gifted them two pick-six TDs & to their credit they pulled off a beautiful fake FG for a TD. So in conclusion, they shouldn’t be made at the refs…they should be mad at their offense or lack thereof.

I actually thought they were nails after the first quarter, especially in the 2nd half. At one point USC had 3 three and outs on 4 possessions with negative yardage over those possessions. They completely shut down the run game and made USC one dimensional. Also came up with some bug stops when we were up against the ropes.

This was a season where expectations were personally adjusted early. Lots to work on but all things considered it was good win and a good season to build on.
This season could easily have been a disaster.

Since ND won, I am going to post something that drives me crazy;

The 4th and forever, 6 ND players and 1 SC player, & the SC player actually gets his hand on the ball.

If you watch the replay, the ND players are jumping with their hands in the catch position, not the knock down position.
And the players trailing the receiver are all looking at the ball.

A) The ball needs to be batted down, & especially on the sideline where you can bar it out of bounds
B) No ND player should be trying to catch the ball
C) The trailing ND players need to IMMEDIATELY destroy the 1 SC receiver as soon as the ball is initially touched by anyone, since it’s now legal to contact him since the ball has been touched

There is no way the 1 receiver should ever be able to touch the ball, especially off a bounce, against 6 defenders on a long ball.

That’s the third time this year it’s happened. Two at the end of games (Cal & this one), & once at the end of a half.

Freeman & Mickens need to hammer that home.

I agreed with you on first watch, but after seeing the replay I disagree. The first Irish player to touch the ball slaps it with both hands forward, and then a second DB swats at it to try and knock it down -- and that's what gave the SC player the chance to get a hand on it.

It looked to me like each DB was trying to knock the ball down, not try and catch it.

I'm calmed down now.

Fucking Tommy is always trying to prove he's the smartest guy in the room.

He can call a good game, but he's going to out think himself a few times a game.

Buchner has the physical tools.
He doesn't know when to use those tools.

MFMF needs to know when to tell Tommy to stop thinking so much and when Tommy over thinks he needs to over rule him.

I'm hopeful for next year.

I believe Bracy was the first player, and his hands are in the thumb to thumb, ball over head, catch position.
If he’s batting it down it should be a “spike,” straight downward to the ground directly in front of him. The ball bounces two yards forward. If he is trying to bat it, it was a horrible technique and attempt.

He accounted for 5 touchdowns.

The Irish had 600 yards of offense and 45 points with a win.

Sorry the kid who hasn't played all year made a couple mistakes. He balled.
Actually accounted for 7. 5 for us and 2 for them.
