Yeah, where are all the pro Rees guys that were getting all personal with me, telling me I was an idiot and quoting TRs magical winning percentage? Funny isn't it. What a waste.

but this is America and while we still have the freedom of speech we are entitled to speak our minds.

Sigh. Please don't vote ever again until you learn a little more about the US Constitution, the Bill of Rigts, who they apply to and who can violate the rights therein.

I've never been the biggest Rees fan, but I trust Kelly enough to trust his basic decision on who best can start in his system. I think certain in-game moves can be reasonably questioned -- ie, going to Rees last night after Hendrix drove them to the five yard line in the first quarter -- but I support the basic starting decision as defensible and I trust Kelly is in the best position to know.

Not making excuses, but Rees was shorthanded without Floyd at full strength, and that emphasizes Rees's lack of mobility, because he really doesn't move well enough to extend plays.

Having said this, and while I'd give Rees a fair shot next year, gotta believe Hendrix is the guy, with Golson to follow.

Waste of first team snaps imo. Tommy is a known quality (surely there is a better word than that). Golson and Hendrix need all the reps they can get.

Just joining this forum.

Love that avatar. Yeah , you know I was very practical and measured about the whole thing. I simply did not think Rees could perform against the better faster defenses with his accuracy or velocity. Additionally I did not think the other qb's were given the same chance to make mistakes and keep their jobs.

It simply is not fair to compare snippets of play from the other two to a large body of work from TR. Also, not giving one of the other qbs playing time was a major risk because EG was waiting in the wings to so you really needed to see what one of the other qbs could do because BK had to know that Rees was not the long term answer.............right? I mean did he really think he could win with him?? God I hope not.

You weren't right. You stuck by your convictions... congrats. That doesn't mean that Crist was the answer and Tommy was at fault for our underachieving season.

I did not say Crist was the answer, I was adamant that Rees was NOT the answer, which was an accurate assessment.

Additionally I think Rees was a HUGE part of our underachieving season. H

Fair enough. I think Rees was A part of our underachieving season. I believe there's plenty of blame to go around. I'd like to toss some at our secondary... if it could be called one.

Well it's not Tommy's fault that he had to play because ND didn't have far and away better options. But his poor play, especially the turnovers definitely hurt the team.

Yeah, but we really didn't have a ton of personnel options there. I think play calling on offense was horrid overall. I would prefer to go back to the triple option and run the ball a freaking day. I can't stand the spread, I think it is non-Notre Dame. But letting Rees start that bowl game was no doubt a bad choice.

Sorry but we had two four star qbs and one 5 star available, not many teams have those kind of options.

Agreed. I'm not a Tommy supporter nor am I one of his detractors.

I asked you a million times to tell me who the better option was, and you were quieter than any Rees supporter is right now. So how does that make you right and the others wrong? So you said all along Rees was not the answer - gee, really? You want a cookie for that brilliant assessment??? Almost ALL of us agreed with that. I know I did. I just said that he was the best option, since Crist couldn't hack the pressure and Hendrix didn't know the playbook (and like I tried to warn you guys - he wasn't ready and it showed last night).

Bottom line - our QB pay sabotaged a chance at a very good season. Everybody knows that...
