I've been aware of Tom Hammond's dry commentary for quite some time, but as a student attending home games for the last 4 years, I wasn't at all affected. Now as an Alumnus, I finally understand the pain you've all been suffering through.

There's just no excitement in his voice. At all. He can't even call the plays correctly, getting names wrong frequently and adding his own opinions of replays that are often wrong.

Can anyone offer solutions to this dire problem? Perhaps we can all write letters into NBC/ND? I alone can't change this. But together as one, ND Nation can force Hammond OUT. ND fans across the country shouldn't have to listen to this drab.

To me Hammond almost seems anti-Notre Dame trying to show objectivity by pumping up or telling stories about players on the other team.

I want more Notre Dame and less about the other teams.

He is terrible. During the game when Cierre Wood tripped, Hammond said "he got hit hard". What? We must be watching two different games

I thoroughly enjoyed the game today and then I realized why, being at the game I avoided the misery of hearing that knucklehead talk out of his backside for four quarters.

I generally just mute the game and listen to music most of the time. Mayock has to have somewhat of a "newbie in prison" sense up there having to stand so close to Hammond for 3+ hours.

He's wrong more than he's right. Get player names, numbers, team names.... all wrong. He can't judge a first down to save his life. Add that on top of his lack of passion and trying to keep an unbiased opinion by swinging the pendulum too far to the other team. He's just bad. Really, really bad. Reminds me of Summerall at the end of his career. Too bad BIG10 has Gus Johnson.

Maybe they could give Jack Nolan, of und.com, a tryout?

NBC needs to wake up and promote their product a little better...

The entire coverage was terrible today. From leading with "TwitterGate" and harping on it for four quarters, to not knowing what was going on half of the game. If I had to hear "keeping Navy off schedule" one more time, I would have screamed.

It should be time to make the change in the booth. After Navy scored their first TD one of my friends walked in the living room and asked if we had lost the lead because Hammond kept saying "turnovers, turnovers, turnovers...". I am sure we can find someone else to do these games.

It is a strange deal that the man has been able to keep the job. I dont have any personal distain other than the fact that its not someone who seems to really like Notre Dame and he's not very good. And of course NBC making such a big deal about twitter bull$#@! and sounding like a bunch of school girls getting their nails done with nothing else to talk about. Sometimes I feel sad that these idiots have the package rights. When other networks get the game they really seem to be excited about calling a Notre Dame football game. Mayock is the only positive because he is a football purist.

I'm watching the tOSU/Wisconsin game, right now. I'd really like to see Todd Blackledge get a shot at doing the color for ND on NBC. That doesn't solve the Hammond problem, though.

At least with it being Halloween weekend, Hammond's corpse costume was appropriate looking today.

(Of course no idea as to why he looks like an extra from The Walking Dead the rest of the season though)

Blackledge is a State Penner, he's out in my book. Also, I hate the restaraunt bit he does.

I happened to walk by Hammon last night at The Gug after the PepRally...if you guys think he looks creepy in his makeup, picture his scraggly old face without it.Yikes.

What we honestly need to do is complain incessantly to NBC and Notre Dame...and beg Mike Golic to come on board.

The broadcast makes it Look like Hammond and Flutie are interviewing weekly for a gig with ESPN...

Flutie has the most pronounced forehead I have ever seen. It's like he's a modern-day cro magnon man walking around the NBC studio.

Love Mike but no.

I agree NBC needs to replace Hammond he drives me nuts. I don't know who could replace him but I'm sure it should be somebody employed by NBC.
