I was trying to stop all the Tiger bashing and judgment of character and bring it back to golf. I was the one who started this thread, so clearly I knew he played well this weekend. Just being a little facetious is all (I have a strong sarcastic side).

Tiger made and incredible shot at 16 to win today at Memorial to tie Jack at 2nd all time with 73 PGA tour wins. After his shot at 16, Jack told him that it was the best shot he had ever seen at Memorial. The birdie he had at 18 was the first birdie to finish a tournament since i believe 2009. Solid round by the Red Shirt.

I know some feel strongly against Tiger after the marital issues and what not, but I for one am glad he is back playing well again. Let's hope he can keep it up.

On a side note, I really hate the spikes he's been wearing lately.
I'm a 59 year old white guy-and a Tiger fan. His excellance needs to be applauded from a golf standpoint. The other stuff was of course a bad dark episode. No need to go on with that as some people do. Golf needs this guy and when he plays to Tiger standards its a beautifull game. Nike needs to get him the same shoes but in black. Fitting that he would tie Jack at the Memorial.

Tiger's not the only one, he just got outed.

Exactly.

Most professional athletes live that lifestyle. It's certainly not something to envy if you're a man of honor, but let's at least accept that it's not rare or even unusual.

Tiger Woods was/is a rockstar. They party and f*ck whoever they want whenever they want and marriage rarely holds them back.

He's not all bad

He's not all bad

Tiger to match every dollar raised in Facebook fundraising campaign (and yes I know PR move, and tax write off...) Although I think its fair to point out this man gives an abundant amount of money to charity annually.

Tiger will go down probably as the best athlete of my existence on this earth(20) a little to young to fully appreciate MJ. I for one am going to enjoy the ride, and hope more memories like 16 at Masters 2005 and Torrey Pines playoff 2008 come back to us.

Also, lets not be naive. We dont fall in love with athletes like Tiger, MJ, Kobe, A-Rod, Jeter because they're outstanding citizens. We fall in love with them because they make the impossible possible, because they routinely preform at a level of excellence.. that we'd all give up our left nut for just to do once. If you want to like a sports figure because he is a great human being watch Tebow...

I always loved Doug Collins summary of LeBron James. He always said while doing James games for TnT. That he would do anything to be LeBron for one day and drive around finding random pick-up games just to experience what it feels like to be that good at something. That is something all of us 20 handicappers feel about with Tiger

sorry for rant.

It's really hard to say he's the best athlete in your lifetime. Lebron James? Michael Phelps? Usain Bolt?
