Theo Riddick or Cierre Wood?

Cierre is a better runner. Theo is a better complete runningback, he's our 2nd leading receiver. Theo > Cierre.

Both guys have their strengths... Theo is obviously stronger and a better pass-catching option, but Cierre's lateral-stop-go acceleration allows for plays to develop a bit more, plus allows for much bigger bites on play-action. For this year's team success both guys have been crucial at certain times. I can't choose. I'm just happy that everyone is doing their part and uplifting the team, as a whole.

I don't think that Kelly is trying to damage Wood's draft stock so that he stays for next season. I think Kelly is trying to improve Cierre as both a person and a football player. Riddick almost always hits it in there. He very rarely dances around. If you've watched closely since Kelly has gotten here, he has yelled at Wood as he comes off the field after a poor run tens of times.

Love both of them. Cierre has really learned to read the blocking. He accelerates at the exact right moment to hit the hole as it opens. Theo is a bigger receiving threat. Both have those quick feet. AND neither one fumbles anymore. I love to see them rotated in and, keeping fresh. Which do I love more, the toast or the butter?

It is so great to look at the future of the RB position with GA III, Carlisle, McDaniel, Mahone AND probably Cierre next season. What amazing depth! It was just a year ago that we were so worried about our RB depth and look how Kelly & co. have taken care of business.

I think he would need to do something spectacular vs. USC and in the bowl game to raise his draft stock up high enough to make it worth skipping a fifth year as THE feature back on an undoubtedly better offensive team. Right now I think Cierre is a fifth round pick at best. Come back and dominate and he could go in the 2nd round. That is just my opinion however.

I was just talking to a fellow ND fan about this over the weekend. Give me Cierre Wood. If you just sit back and watch that dude run and shred holes in defenses you realize he is pretty special.

I've never seen Wood make the wrong cut or miss a hole.

I love Theo too, but Cierre is on a different level as a runner. Theo does other things better, no doubt.

CW is the better runner but I believe Theo is the better back. Seems to be a better athlete and he just runs harder. If he was a little bigger......

I'm with ya. Wood has very good vision and runs through a lot of arm tackles that trip riddick up

I dunno about Theo being a better athlete or runs harder. Cierre is a lot smoother and has better vision so it may just look like Theo is running harder. Cierre slides through those creases exceptionally well and also breaks arm tackles with ease. If I had to choose one, it'd be Cierre hands down.

I think Cierre is better overall. More explosive, better at finding holes, and has an impressive swagger. :)

That said, I have been really impressed with Theo's toughness this year. He's slamming into guys and has gotten some tough short yardage conversions. That's been fun to watch. And he's always been really shifty. He's broken a few ankles this year.

Have to confess...part of me has wondered if we're holding Cierre back a bit so he stays. But, then I realize that's stupid.

It may sound stupid but at the same time. I think so far this year Theo is still the better of the two...I also said that cierre is a better nfl prospect so. Theo runs harder between the tackles and doesn't look to make the big cutback...I feel like sometimes Cierre looks for the big run too much and don't get me wrong he has that ability. Still like Theo so far this year.

Cierre Wood could get 1 carry for the rest of the year and it wouldn't change the fact that he will go in the 4th or 5th round.

Cierre is the better back, but I would prefer Theo in there on a 3rd and 1 or 2.

I'm not sure...Cierre is averaging 1.9 ypc more than Theo.

I just love them both.

If I had to pick one to have for the rest of the year, it's Theo>Wood. Had over 100 yards of offense yet again. 4 receptions. Such a versatile player.
