So we’re almost 1/3 of the way thru the season and used up our one loss. With recent injuries and some new players flashing some skills who do we think are the two deep next year? Lots of players looking good and sad to lose a few if the transfer WRs.

The offensive line will be really interesting, not unlike coming into this year.

ND should try to get Jason Moore when he enters the portal at the end of the season.

Oline will be interesting because if they improve as the year goes on, is Rudolph going to keep continuity on the left side or plug Jagusah back in after he recovers? If Jagusah is healed by spring and gets meaningful reps, I could see him taking back the LT spot. Craig will most likely miss all of spring and fall camps so Coogan is probably inserted at C.

I do think starting caliber transfers are needed at DT and definitely Safety. Would like to see a contributor at Corner and WR join the team for experience next year as well.

FWIW, II is very confident that and will land one of the best (if not the best) DT transfers next season. They’ll probably need 1-2 DT and 1 Safety from the portal. They‘re going to need to start taking some gambles on Freshman that they recruited who enter the portal. They can’t just be taking transfers who only have 1 year of eligibility remaining. If Elic Ayomanor enters the portal, I think he’ll be Irish.

We can - and will - debate the QB of course (I'm Team Kenny, personally). But no matter who, you'd feel better about a first-year starter QB if, after all the turmoil in the WR room the last few years, our three starters next year are all effectively third-year starters.

On the OL, lots of moving pieces to consider but you don't think Knapp makes the starting five after starting Day One as a true freshman? He's been pretty good so far. I'd love to see Lambert make it too, if only so we get him multiple years as a starter b/c I think he's gonna be a good one. But of course Jagusah and Wagner have a lot of talent. TL:DR Our OL will be just fine.

No notes on the D, you nailed it.

I don’t like that offense at all.

Quite the conundrum. Good problem to have. Lambert does seem like an all pro in the making.

Well they won’t be shedding out 2 million to a QB so they def should be investing that money. I think they’ll need at least 1-2 WR’s as well.

I’d go after Mcmillian from Arizona,

That would actually be my ideal oline. I'm just not sure how ND is going to accommodate so many guys with starting experience so I played it safe. Evans I could also see coming back if ND's passing game doesn't take form. I think there's a lot of different starting combos on offense I could see with Love and the right side of the line being the only guys I would write in with a sharpie right now.

Yeah the musical chairs on the Oline should be interesting and our home grown WR group will get a chance to shine. So many options this year with so little passing talent. I don’t see Leonard going injury free this season the way he plays so we are going to get to see more Angeli and probably more Minchey in meaningful minutes. I think Mincheys legs will set him up for next year. If we lost a second game prior to the USC game we might see Carr get some PT as well. I think GBran comes back tough next year but we have a lot of depth in the RB room. #21 Young is 230 pounds and should get some reps on short yardage.

Why do we think he would start for us?
Because Botelho and Burnham are hurt and Oben kinda sucks. Keeley and Traore crashing the edges would be awesome.

Instead at Bama they bulked him up by 30 pounds, moved him inside and he’s stuck behind several dudes of theirs. But his mom got her NIL check so that’s cool.

I hope Mickey didn’t see this thread and notice he wasn’t mentioned on anyone’s lineup.

I am also officially removing Mickey from my three deep lineup. He is on my special teams though.
