It would be pretty much impossible to go a whole season with no interceptions, but it is fun to talk about it. (By the way what is the least amount of interceptions thrown with a QB starting the whole year, anyone know?)

You need everything on your side, luck, skill, and sure handed receivers. So far Jimmy has had luck. In the Michigan game he had a ball fly right out of a defenders hands. He has had the skill with his pinpoint accuracy. And we all know about his sure handed receivers. So cheers to Jimmy on his quest to not throw a single interception this year! (I just jinxed him didn't I?)

Michigan State is a huge statement game for Jimmy, If he is a true leader he needs to be outstanding in a situation where it would be easy to come out flat this game after a heartbreaking loss.

He is going to throw one now that we started a thread about it. Kind of like how the announcers said we haven't had a turnover in 8 quarters then 2 plays later we fumble.

I went to BGSU and I believe Omar Jacobs threw 44Td's to 4 Int. back in 2004-05.

In 2004, his sophomore season, Omar Jacobs set the record for the best touchdown-to-interception ratio in NCAA Division I-A history (10.25:1). 41 touchdowns to four interceptions thrown. 45 total touchdowns passing/rushing. 4,002 yards passing. WOW

I have always thought a good barometer of a QB is the TD to INT ratio.

if you can throw 30+ TD's and have single digit INT numbers....you are in rare terroritory.

You cant throw 30+ and have single digit INT's by accident....you have to be a good QB, making good decisions to put up those kinds of numbers.

JC can play, we all know that, and of course he going to toss a few INT's. I am interested how bounces back from those INTs, how he responds to adversity. That being said, I think he will have a year that mirrors Quinn's jr and sr years. I think he is going to be lights-out all year.

at what point does Michael Floyd officially take the label of being the greatest WR in ND history? ...isnt it just a formality at this point?

There's no doubt that Clausen will end up throwing a pick, at some point in the season. That's not a knock on Jimmy, but just a function of the offense that Weis runs. Because of the ability of his receivers, ND throws a lot of low percentage passes. There's no doubt in my mind that Clausen has been coached to chuck it up, whenever he sees man coverage on Michael Floyd. Given Floyd's ability to go up and get the ball, that's not necessarily a bad philosophy. But it does mean that the law of averages is going to catch up to you, sooner or later.

I know I know Jimmy is going to throw a pick, You simply cannot avoid one bad throw, a tipped ball, or bad communication with a receiver. Like the person said above me, Charlie calls alot of high percentage passes, but when Clausen does sling it, he now this year is making great decisions.

I feel the pick is going to come over the middle. So far he has been money on his over the middle throws, but you have to be. One little under/over throw to Kyle Rudolph over the middle and that is gunna be picked off.

Lets keep the countdown going and keep this thread alive during the MSU game.

Joe Montana...

25:27 Touchdown to Interception ratio during his career.

Way to jinx Jimmy with this thread. The last time I said something truly ridiculous about a Notre Dame player ("Rhema could win the Biletnikoff!" - Following the GT game, 2006), he dropped a trillion passes during the season.

Do we get to use stats prior to 1906? If so, I think the list would be long.

Minimum 200 attempts, modern college football

Damn! Is there a standard "Tongue-In-Cheek" emoticon thing-a-ma-jig? Do I need to use it? I thought this interweb was a two way screen gizmo. My bad!

Look – I'm a wise-ass Luddite. Well, wise ass, yes; Luddite, no. Most comments I make should be viewed in that light.

Is there a furrowed brow, "I'm as serious as the boils on my ass" icon I can use on the rare occasion that I might need it?

Please don't hate me! I crave affirmation.
