I will not vent on here, so please, do the site a favor and ban me before I lose my marbles with this team and completely voice my opinions. For me, no more, "well our freshman quarterback played a whale of a game (which he did minus some less than savory decision making), or the defense played their hearts out against a potent offense (which they did NOT except for Kapron ahnd maybe Manti), or you are not a fan if you give up and bad mouth this team. Simply put, we lost to Navy and TULSA in as many weeks. TULSA ladies and gentelmen. TULSA. Accountability must present itself immediately. No beatring around the bush, we lost to navy (again) and TULSA.

No reason to ban you buddy. Last week in one of the threads, I think "the sky is falling thread" I said that I felt the sky had fallen and Notre Dame was sitting at rock bottom. I wasn't griping or bitching. I was calling it like I saw it. Today is further proof. ND is at absolute rock bottom, and it is up to Kelly to dig deeper than he ever has as a coach to figure out how to build it back up.

I am not one calling for his head. But ND is at absolute 0 right now.

Totally worthless year and coach. I am done with this team. The tragedy that happened this week on campus CANNOT cover for this loss. I guaranteee 75% of players dont even know Declan. Maybe I am wrong. No excuse for this loss. Kick the damn field goal and win. NO EXCUSE..........................

So what if they didn't know him? They saw the aftermath of the incident and were on the scene while medical professionals tended to Declan. That's enough to shake anyone and occupy their minds, especially a bunch of kids. Of course, I'm not saying that this excuses the loss, but it's definitely a factor.

I think you are wrong. Apparently the team was near when they heard the crash. Their head coach was deeply affected. They surely read and watched all the national news calling for Kelly's head. They lost a brother. Practices were affected. Moods were affected. Campus was affected. I expected a huge loss of focus. Sure enough...

I have admitted repeatedly that I know little about the technical aspects of football. So, please understand that this is a serious, if naive, question.

I keep hearing about "Kelly's offense" and "wait till we get the guys to fit into Kelly's offense." I would think that someone with the football experience and knowledge to be a head coach at a major college would know more than one "scheme," and that the way to be successful would be to run a scheme built around your talent, rather than trying to force the wrong kind of personnel into a pre-set system. Or does that not make any sense? Seriously, because I don't know.

Walking into the house just in time to see that last interception made me glad I had to be at a funeral all day.

His 2009 Cincinnatti Bear Cats team was ranked in the top 10 in both points scored a game and total offense a game. Not to mention undefeated until Coach Kelly packed his bags for South Bend. That's pretty impressive. And for a coach to change his coaching scheme to meet the ability of his players is ludacris. College football is all about recruiting. The players on Notre Dame's current roster were all recruited to play in Charlie Weis' pro-style offense. So it is not a naive question, it is just common sense.

I take it you don't have very much faith in many things. I'm not trying to stir the pot or anything, I'm just saying as an true Irish fan I can bring myself to writing this man off yet. How did you honestly think this year would play out? You had to know there would be some tough times and I'm sure your not surprised. I will admit, losing to Navy and Tulsa in consecutive weeks is hard to swallow but with the success we have had in the last 3 or 4 years BK wasn't going to upright the ship in 9 games. Your asking for a miracle, and I simply can't start making judgements so soon in his reign as coach. Navy obviously isn't the cupcake they used to be, and you have to admit, the depth chart is just a little hobbled right now. I'm not trying to make excuses but you can't fault me for trying to stay positive and hopeful. Notre Dame football is not going to die tomorrow and I, for one, will be as patient as I need to be.
