Mike Frank says he has heard some interesting information about a recruit we are not expecting to get having some serious interest in ND. He was very reserved in revealing anything about who it was, but he made it sound like if what he heard was true, we would hear something within the next week or two.

Let the speculation begin......

I didn't get a chance to listen to the Power Hour, so I'd like to go back and listen once its posted on his Power Hour Blog. Do you remember how far into the show it was when he said that?

My speculation: Mike Frank is a dickhead and is just trying to sell more subscriptions. Looking at his info over the last 2 years, I am unimpressed with him.

I agree about Mike Frank. But, I'll speculate anyway with the rumor being about B Butler or J Baldwin.

I missed most of the show, but it sounded like he mentioned it earlier in the show and then he got some questions about it. The questions came around the 1:30 - 1:45 mark if I remember right.

What does everyone have against Mike Frank? His show is probably the most informative I have listened to, although I have only listened to the Blue and Gold one once or twice, he also seems to be pretty spot on when it comes to information about recruits.

Yes he is being recruited exclusively at WR. He ran a 4.4 at a recent camp. I think the speculation that he would play TE stopped when he decided to focus on playing football in college over basketball.

My list of possible surprise prospects would be:

Baldwin - It has been mentioned that we lead for him, but I have also heard at different times that Pitt or Michigan leads.

Butler - We have a shot but his dad went to FSU and he says nothing but good things about USC. The only reason this wouldn't be a surprise is because we fit the bill of everything he is looking for:
-Wants to start early: Worst offensive position right now for ND.
-Wants national exposure: America's team. NBC most weeks and ESPN the rest.
-Wants to come in with other talented recruits: Scout- #1 class, Rivals #3 (pre Ethan Johnson)
-Wants to go pro: See Charlie's SB ring. Corwin just came from there.

Forston - I know he likes ND but until he visits you probably have to consider Miami the frontrunner

Patchan - Dad's a Miami Alumni and nobody thinks we lead for Patchan.

A. Brown - He is down to 22 schools and nobody has a clue what order those are in. Some think he favors OU.

Hill - Rivals has ND off his list. Scout wrote an article saying ND is still on it. Even if we are on his list, few believe we have a shot at landing Hill.

I will end this speculation. It has been discovered that Rocket has one more year of eligibility and has expessed desire to return to his alma mater. He is already been plugged in at WR by Charlie. He may even get a look at KR if he has wheels enough.

After some of his preformances on Gameday I am not sure if we have a scholarship for him.

He has gone after, and tried to ruin this site several times, and I believe he has gone after DD as well. That's why many in the IE, DD, and GH community tend to have hard feelings toward Mike.

you cant definitely see why. information comes out more quickly hear than on rivals or scout.

When DD was temporarily shut down, it was because of posters who would undermine the "property" of Irisheyes. I don't know all the specifics, because I wasn't on the board at the time, but there were cases of guys using direct quotes, or in general divulging too much information that you need to pay for. Now DD doesn't even want you giving direct quotes, even on free access articles.

My guess is thats the kind of thing that guys here are referencing. A lot of these free boards/sites pride themselves on being quicker than the recruiting services, and this is a threat to the health of their business, so it wouldn't surprise me if rivals, scout, or any other pay service took any opportunity they could to stick it to the free boards.

I'm gonna laugh if this gets me in trouble somehow.
