This team would be a top 25 team if not for Scott Martin's injury. Brooks and Broghammer aren't getting minutes off the bench because they aren't ready yet, so they 7 man rotation that we are forced to use this year has not gone well. I hope Brey does not get fired because I think next years team could be pretty special.
PG: Atkins
SG: Hansbrough, Brooks
SF: Abro, Martin, Grant
PF: Nash, Scott
C: Broghammer, Cooley
Atkins will be an incoming frosh who is ranked as the 58th player overall in the country. Grant will be a frosh as well, and is ranked as the 92nd player in the country. Atkins is pretty much just a more talented Tory Jackson and is supposed to be a starter from Day 1. We all know what Hansbrough and Abro can do, and Scott Martin (missed this whole year due to knee injury) has been called the most talented player Brey has ever coached. He should start, which could potentially cause Abro to become the 6th man. Grant is too athletic not to play, and Brooks should be solid off the bench as well. Nash and Scott are both solid players and Cooley and Broghammer have looked decent this year. That gives us 10 solid players who deserve to be playing in every game, so it will be interesting to see what Brey does as he prefers an 8 man rotation. The loss of Harangody could potentially help our offense, as he probably takes more shots than he really should. The 2010-2011 team should be the most athletic one that Brey has ever coached and we will for once have 4 big men who will be solid contributors as well as Martin and Abro who are 6'8". Barring a huge run at the end of this season, we should be slotted for an easy Big East conference schedule (not like the awful one two years ago). If Brey cannot have ND as a top 25 team by next year, then he should go.
