Agree Thomas is the sleeper of this QB class. Kind like this kid right here was..

Matt Ryan - Football Recruiting

GEE, look BGIF this kid was 6'5 200lbs also. What is he doing now? Sure isn't pump gas or bagging groceries. Take notice to who didn't offer him which he want to go play for. Can Thomas be another sure fire in a bottle just like him?

Another red herring. I didn't disparage Thomas. Yet your bring up bagging grocerices!

You still haven't commented, still, about Thomas's advantages.

So now you try to do so by association. The only commonality is their both 6-5, 200. Oh yes, and their both sleepers. Wherever that came from.

BTW, If Thomas is a sleeper ranked as the #13 QB, what does that make Montana all the way up there at #12?

A Lite Sleeper? A napper?

For all you inference that I'm disparaging your kid look what I had to say about him:

NEXT TIER - ND is likely to get ONE of the 4 Star QBs:
#12 Montana (Offered) - I think he's ND or OSU
#11 Hendrix (Offered) -See Montana only vice versa. ND and OSU split
#13 Thomas - IF I miss on the 2 above

And by the way, Hendrix is 6-3, 220. He's already at the playing weight range Charlie likes to see. Again compared to Montana, Thomas, and Clausen (the recruit) they're slim compared to Hendrix.

So if Pete, Charlie, Stoop, and Saban give a recruit the thumbs up than he justify as the real deal!! Is that what your trying to tell me. How about Colt McCoy? He had only one top school offer him(Texas). None these other coaches(minus Saban wasn't in the league)gave him the thumbs up.

More red herring. And about as accurate as a Joe Biden statement.

No Pete, Charlie, and Stoop, didn't offer Colt. He had offers from Texas, A&M, GT, KSU, MU, and PU according to Rivals. So approximately 110 other Div 1 head coaches didn't offer Colt.

Of those Head Coaches that did offer Colt, dirty, which ones still have their jobs?

What was it the 110 other coaches didn't see? Or did see?

Was it Colt's height? Flutie doesn't think height's a problem. Lots of 6-0 or 6-1 QBs have done well and a bunch of them in Colt's class got offers as well.

Could it have been that Colt was ranked the #73 player - not on Lemming's 100 or Rivals 250. He was #73 on HIS STATE LIST. What were those people thinking?

Was it Colt committing early to Texas and telling people he was firm.

Quarterback Drought Over; McCoy a Horn — 5/18/2004, from Orangebloods.com

Mack Brown thought so highly of Colt filling the UTX QB DROUGHT (see link above) that he offered the #1 Dual QB Ryan Perrilloux all of 6 weeks after Colt said, "I'm a Horn, Coach!" Mack hook'd 'em good when Perrilloux said Yes.

Colt found out he wasn't Mack's real McCoy and reopened his recruiting. Tripped to A&M. And dozens of offers crammed his mail box. Actually they didn't. Why was that, dirty? They had a second bite of the apple and didnt' take it.

Then the plot thickens and Perrilloux gets a call from that guy who "wasn't in the league".

Yeah, he was.

Perrilloux gets call from Saban — 9/16/2004, from TigerBait.com

Horn, Tiger, Horn, Tiger, ... Finally Perrilloux says, "Oui!" to LSU.

Mack shows all the love in the world to Colt trying to salvage a disaster losing 2 QBs and ending up like Davie and ...

Did you follow recruiting back then?

McCoy to his credit although ranked way down at #15 (a whole 2 slots behind Thomas) uses the Perrilloux insult to hone his skills and raise his game to show MACK as well as those that didn't offer that he can play the game (being on a team loaded with talent doesn't hurt either. Wonder how he would have done with 58 sacks as a freshman QB with 8 new starters on offense?).

Now that we've dealt with the red heerings can you enlighten me on WHY you'd rather have Thomas over Montana?

It's called an opinion but if you can't deal with it and want to be a opinionated dickhead, that's your problem. I'm not going to sit here and justify myslef to you on why I think Thomas is a better fit than Montana. Again, it's just opinion.

I'm not going look through scouts or rivals looking quotes on "how Thomas is better than Montana" to get your approval. I got better things to do with my life. I'm not the only on this board who thinks Thomas should be offer or tried for. Which at this moment it looks like all ND is doing is tumbling down the mountian of quarterback one after the other. It wouldn't hurt to offer Thomas.

Go ahead and bash that because we all no you will, thus, proving my point about you being opinionated.

Look, my whole thing is, why? Why do you think we should offer Thomas over Montana, when everyone recruiter and his mother thinks Montana is the better prospect? You've yet to answer that. I'm not bashing you for having an opinion, just wondering why. Maybe you've seen the both in person, who knows. But when you don't give an answer, and then get seemingly upset with me because I have the nerve to think that the top college coaches in the nation and their assistants know more about evaluating talent than you and I do, then it makes me wonder. That's all...

Wasn't upset with you. Just BGIF is the opionated one. As it seems he has nothing in life to do but bash on people. He was a complete utterly dickhead my in Wisconsin thread and continue to do so in this. You made a great point.

Guys with no offer sheets become 1st round draft picks, and guys with 5 star ratings never even see the field regularly in college. It's just the way it is.

Which is true. Didn't say drop Nick Montana offer just throw Thomas a bone. He might work out he might not.

AMP After The Montana Fallout

AMP After The Montana Fallout

AMP: The Montana fallout - Rivals.com Video

6/11 Farrell looks at the Musical Chairs ND, OSU, UGA, and others die for when the music stops.

Farrell
ND is going to have to focus on Andrew Hendrix. He came in and had a good visit at ND. ND is in good shape with him. If they don't get him it going to be a troubling QB class for ND. They want to take 2 guys. Hendrix being #1, then I think they offer to maybe a guy like Sean Robinson, or Tommy Rees, or Luke Massa, or Taylor Graham, Sean Robinson and and Rees most likely Chase Rettig from CA is another guy they'll take a look at. Inexplicable that he has no offers at this point. Hendrix should come down to ND and OSU.

Rivals reports Rees will be camping at ND.

Last month Massa was reported to be coming to ND camp to earn a scholarship.

OSU-ND battle looms for Hendrix

OSU-ND battle looms for Hendrix

Per Bill Kurelic ESPN

Nick Montana to UW heats up the OSU/ND battle over Hendrix. According to Kurelic both schools will only sign 1 QB. Both missed out on Montana; both have offered Hendrix.

They also have both offered Hendrix, and that is the only other quarterback offer either school has out at this time.
Bill Kurelic ESPN

ND and OSU are high on his list while MSU, WIS and UTN are still in the hunt.
Hendrix visited ND and OSU this week and hope to narrow his list in the next two weeks.

It looks like it's coming down to a couple schools. [Ohio State and Notre Dame] are definitely two of the front-runners. I might make one more trip back to Notre Dame June 21 when their football team gets back. I didn't get to see the entertainment district on my other visit there. It is going to be tough getting out to Michigan State and Wisconsin.

South Bend Entertainment district?

Please tell me Darrell Hand won't be his tour guide.

Pete Thomas to ASU

Pete Thomas to ASU

Scratch Pete Thomas from the 2010 QB Pool. He's taken himself out of the water with a verbal to ASU Friday. He made pan out to be a fine college QB as he has prototypical size. For some reason hehad trouble picking up offers from the big dogs. Offers included ASU, BC, CSU, UMD, NCS, and NW. Grades weren't the problem he as he had an offer from Harvard as well.

Bryan Bennett to ORE

Bryan Bennett to ORE

A former teammate of Joe Fauria at Encino Crespi, Bennett chose ORE over Boise, PIT, UT ST, WYO, and New Mexico St.

He was unoffered by ND and approximately 113 other Big Dogs in D1.

Did you get your college paid for playing a sport? I only got half on an academic scholarship because I was a D3 recruit. Not being PC slick. I'm being realistic. Fuck, if Ak St. gave me a ride, I'm going debt free for an education.

No, I didn't get my college paid for by playing a sport. I was headed to ND when my father died my senior year in HS. With two small kids yet to raise the family finances dictated my going to college in-state. I paid for it myself the only fashioned way. I worked 18 jobs to pay for my college education myself and ended up with no debt for me or my mother when I graduated in 4 years. And no, I don't resent those who got an athletic scholarship, nor those who got an academic one, they earned their way, their way. And I don't resent those who had two parents to pay their way, either.

I agree If ARK St gave you a ride, you would be debt free but even in Arkansas, or especially in Arkansas, where I have relatives, the Red Wolves are considered minor league. They are a AA school that applied for 1A status solely to get the $$$$ associated with being the buyout bum of the week.

I wrote about was the quality of the football programs Thomas received offers from despite his hustling to secure them. If Thomas was basing his choice on best education for the dollar he should have accepted the offer to Harvard, shouldn't he?

Regardless of his reasons for chosing ASU, unlike Vontase Burfict, Thomas did't get to turn down SC, did he? Thomas didn't get to turn down any Top 25 program, did he? He had an offer from BC but THEY choose someone else. And they weren't the only one.

I defer to your experience on football conditioning and such as you participated at a higher level than most of us and have some good insights.

However, it you think the Arkansas State's program is comparable to Arkansas's or ASU's is equal to USC's I'm thinkin' Lyndon Johnson would have lumped you in with Gerald Ford, a noted former Michigan football player about who President Johnson said something like, "Sometimes I wonder if that boy wore a helmet when he played."

Hey Wabash...even though we are in different states, we seem to be in the same boat. A Social Studies teacher that no one wants to hire...

In Pennsylvania it seems like EVERYONE is a SS teacher...I've recently just gotten other certs but I would rather do SS.

Hope things work out for you.
