Would you rather the fans

a) storm the field
b) act like we've been there before

I say storm it. Just leave the poor goal posts out of it.

I think fans storm the field when an obviously inferior opponent beats an obviously superior opponent, storming the field would do nothing but prove we think we were inferior and got out with a win. I remember when beating USC was a quality win, not something to storm the field over.

I think BC has beaten us like 6 or 7 times in a row, if we beat them should we storm the field too?

Look how many times MSU beat us at home, did we storm the field when we beat them this year?
Why should effin USC be any different?

in '05, that nd team wasn't near the underdog that this '09 team is and when we thought we won it there at the end (until the referees fudge packed us) the fans stormed the field.

if we win, there is no way those fans are staying in the stands. this would be a monumental/significant win.

storm the field with glee, enjoy the win.

The line for both of the games was right around 10

I'd storm the field and spear matt barkley.

In all seriousness, ND players, students, and fans DESERVE to storm the field if we get the W. It's been 8 damn years

Storm the field. Why in the hell shouldn't we. Everyone is saying we have no chance to beat USC. Well when we do, Storm the Field, Celebrate and then go home. No one said the goal posts need to come down. The only thing I am worried about is ruining the field.

I dont believe in storming the field - ever. Also, its a rivalry game, by definition you shouldnt be storming the field because its your rival.

Some kid always falls off the goal post and sips dinner through a straw from then on. Its dumb.

Score a TD and hand the ball to the ref. Win and expect it. You'll get more respect.

i'm not referring to the line. it's more in reference to the media pundits cuz back then, that nd team actually had more talent on offense than we do now. look at the team, jeff samardzija, maurice stovall, darius walker, brady quinn, asap shwap, fassano, zibby...the list goes on and on. and they had much more experience than this current team does & the defense was a heckuva lot better than this season's team.

so, yes this team currenlty has more of an uphill battle.

I disagree with you on the talent. Clausen, Tate, Hughes, Allen, Rudolph, - I would say the talent is very close, if Floyd is in its easily better today than it was but sans Floyd Id call it even.

I get what you're saying tank, but we aren't lining up against the '05 Trojans either. I would argue that overall we have more talent and athleticism than we did in '05 (there's no George West's in the two deep) but experience wise we are lacking, especially on D. I would rate it as on par with the 05 game in terms of where both teams are.

the guys you just mentioned don't have as much experience than the likes of quinn, samardzija, stoval, fassano, darius, asap shwap (we till had carlsson in the wings) and the oline was even better and nastier than the current one.

to top it off, the defense was much better than what we currenly have. so i don't see how you can really compare the two teams.....'05 had much more experience and a better defense.

yeah that '05 trojan team had two heisman finalist in linefart and reggie bush. today's trojans have nothing in comparison to those two alone. and they aren't as strong at the wr position either.

defensively, this year's trojans lost a lot of players from last year's team....so yes, the '05 team was much better than this current trojan team.

I'd have to say don't rush the field. Let's show the nation that we are better than that. We have class (unlike the university we just pounded the crap out of).

It's possible to storm the field with class:

The last second ticks off, sealing USC's fate. The Irish are victorious, by a 34-28 margin. 60,000+ fans spill out onto the field, surrounding their heroic idols at midfield. Suddenly, as one, the 40,000 or so fans in attendance that can, break into the alma mater. This team, which honors it's student support after every home game by singing the alma mater to the student section, is paid back in spades by a very grateful fan base. Today it is their turn, to be honored. 40,000+ voices sing out as one, praising the day the devil was sent packing, back to Soutern Cal.

2,220.93 miles (according to MapQuest) away, there is joy in the house of kmoose. The whiskey is flowing freely, and even the rain seems bright.

THAT is how you storm the field, ND style.
