Nice to see Brian Smith with the emotions of senior day. I hope that Brian gets a shot at the NFL, I believe he has the ability to help a team out on sundays.

It was great to see him play well, but he has no shot at the pros.

I think Brian Smith, Hughes, and Kamara are all guys who are going to have a shot to impress at the combine and be late round picks even though they haven't seen much of the field this year.

Brian Smith could be a scout team prospect.

Robert Hughes is 245 pounds which screams fullback. He'll probably go as an undrafted free agent and will be a solid fullback for years in the NFL.

Duval Kamara is yet another scout team guy, IMO.

The great thing about it is that maybe football doesn't work out, but they probably have better prospects using their ND degree anyway.

Ryan Grant was a lost cause coming out of college and now one of the premiere backs in the league.

Ndukwe wasn't thought to be a pro material but he is a starter now, last i checked. I haven't paid attention to their lineup lately.

Derek Landri was a great player at ND but wasn't looked at as a top prospect for the NFL, but now plays significant minutes.

all the seniors on this team have more potential and i believe they all can succeed at the next level. With the right coaching and situation.

I loved seeing our seniors put there celebrating a w on the r day. Stewart smith all of them.

nicely put. even though smith hasn't been all that great for the irish, he still has a chance at the next level.

seems like our players who under perform here do well in the pros. Then arguably our best QB ever is warming the bench in denver. Irony

Great point and that is fact.....We all thought he was gonna be great because of Charlie and how intelligent he was....now he is behind kyle orton and tim tebow.....not to say those guys aren't good players but still. They both we pretty good college players just like brady if you remember correctly.....

There is no telling who is going to be the "late bloomer". These are mostly young guys, and the best 21 year old is not always the best 28 year old. Ryan Grant is an excellent example of a young guy with requisite physical abilities who only rarely displayed his real abilities while at Notre Dame. But hard work and a good attitude kept him in the picture long enough that it all came together.

Brady (I regret having to admit it) probably is the other end of the spectrum. What he was at Notre Dame was all he was ever going to be. It is not a knock on him. He works his tail off and has dedicated himself to reaching his potential, but it seems that either his "ceiling" was lower than we expected or he was ruined in Cleveland.

I'd say it was the latter. We have a history of destroying quarterbacks.

The great thing about having Mayock doing the play-by-play, is that he gets a good look at our players every week. So of course, him being a very well respected pro scout, he'll be able to talk teams into drafting or at least giving them a shot as a free agent.

What are you alls thoughts about Armando? Think he has a shot?

I think Armando Allen ends up a Washington Redskin with a 6th - 7th round pick. Shannahan hardly ever drafts a RB early and always looks for guys with upside in later rounds.

I don't know if anyone noticed this or not, but i don't think Armando Allen was at the game.

For one he put on his facebook that he wouldn't be on the bus with the team.

Which i think kind of sucks for him since he is a senior and all, and one of the unconditional leaders on the team.

I really like the improvement that Armando Allen has shown, over the last two years. But, realistically, I don't think he has much of a shot at making an NFL roster, unless it is a Special Teams/Emergency RB type of guy. He was running with a LOT more power than previous seasons, but he still wasn't what you would consider a "power back". And if he can't be a power back in college, I just don't see how he can fit into an NFL scheme. He's not particularly elusive enough to be a third down back. But I hope he can find some kind of role with some team.
