I know someone created a spreadsheet breaking down the scholarships by expected graduation class, but I can't find it. Plus, four scholarship players left.
I'm trying to refresh my memory on how many scholarships we'll have to offer in 2009 and how many spots we may have for 5th year seniors in 2008.
Here's what I was able to piece together:
2007 - Freshman
Armando Allen
Jimmy Clausen
Taylor Dever
Gary Gray
Robert Hughes
Duval Kamara
Aaron Nagel
Kerry Neal
Andrew Nuss
Emeka Nwankwo
Steve Paskorz
Mike Ragone
Matt Romine
Brian Smith
Harrison Smith
Golden Tate
Brandon Walker
Ian Williams
Total - 18
2006 - Sophmores
James Aldridge
Sergio Brown
Ryan Burkhart
Matt Carufel
Zach Frazer
Jashaad Gaines
Barry Gallup
Leonard Gordon
Richard Jackson
Demetrius Jones
Raeshon McNeil
Paddy Mullen
Eric Olsen
Robby Parris
Munir Prince
Konrad Reuland
Morrice Richardson
John Ryan
Luke Schmidt
Toryan Smith
Chris Stewart
Kallen Wade
Darrin Walls
Bartley Webb
Daniel Wenger

Will Yeatman
Sam Young
Total - 28 (originally) - 4 transfers = 24
2005 - Juniors
David Bruton
Paul Duncan
David Grimes
Derrell Hand
Ray Herring
Joey Hiben
D.J. Hord
Patrick Kuntz
Kyle McCarthy
Steve Quinn
Asaph Schwapp

Total - 15 (originally) - 1 transfer = 14
2004 - Seniors
Abdel Banda
Darrin Bragg
Justin Brown
Maurice Crum
Tregg Duerson
Leo Ferrine
Justin Hoskins
Chauncey Incarnato
Junior Jabbie
John Kadous

Total 16 (originally) - 9 transfers/no longer playing = 7
I know CW gave Bemenderfer (2005 - Jr) a scholarship, and possibly one or two other walk-ons. Someone help me out with the other walk-ons who got scholarships.
So we currently have 57 scholarship players (including Bemenderfer of the walk-ons) who will return next year (assuming no transfers and no one stops playing).
We currently have 21 coming in from the class of 2008. Assuming we end up with 23-25 players come in next year, we will have between 80 and 82 scholarship players in the Frosh, Soph, Jr, and Sr classes for 2008. That should leave only 3-5 spots for 5th year seniors in 2008 right?
So in 2009, we will have 15-16 scholarships (depending on how many in the class of 2005 return for a 5th yr, assuming no other transfers and no one leaves early for the NFL) to offer?
