I am more concerned than ever, in terms of our chances of outscoring USC. Our offense has looked very good, but against whom?

Through 5 games:
Nevada is giving up 32.25 pts. per game
Michigan is giving up 23.40 pts. per game
Michigan State is giving up 24.60 pts. per game
Purdue is giving up 29.60 pts. per game
Washington is giving up 27.60 pts. per game

USC? 8.6 pts. per game. In 5 games, they have given up a grand total of three touchdowns.

I really want Jimmy and the boys to hang 40+ on 'SC, but I am starting to worry about whether or not we will be able to outscore them.

Let's hope all three units (offense, defense, special teams) play lights out football.

The scariest stat is that the Trojans have not given up a passing touchdown this season.

Granted, they haven't played a quarterback as good as Jimmy Clausen.

Who has their D looked good against? They havent played an offense anywhere near the level of ours.

That was the whole point.........how good is our offense? Judging from the number of points Nevada, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, and Washington have been giving up, I don't think we will really know until after the USC game. Maybe our O can truly score on anyone, and maybe they can only score on suspect defenses.

SC

They dont think they can lose. Their fans dont think they can lose. National media doesnt think they can lose. Thats the way it is until you beat them. We better be 'cold blooded ready'.

Don't be so negative kmoose! Reality doesn't seem to exist in these parts.

i'm going to the game, but i predict we lose 37-17. maybe my karma will be different once i'm on campus. i was at the '05 game and really felt good about that one. something was "in the air" that day and we should've come away with a win. i hope to get that same vibe but right now i don't feel it.

p.s.

i am taking my baptist minister friend who bleeds blue and gold, maybe he can fire Touchdown Jesus up and get us a W.

Good. It's best to not put all one's Karma in a single basket, Grasshopper.

I think we'll have to put 30 on them - discounting the San Jose game they put up about 23 ppg - discounting the Nevada game we put up 33 ppg
Common sense says: They keep us 6 less than our avg (by 2 FGs) and we allow them a TD over their avg - we get 27 - 30 in favor of USC. However, in reality I expect Manti steps up, KPL plays great as well as Neal. This allows the CBs and Kyle and Harrison to get in the flow - so we keep them below expectations and we see 27 - 27, then with the luck of the Irish (we're due) 30 - 27 in favor of the Irish. And I did all that straight and sober.

that's right guy, navy and gold. deal with it. i'll be in the house, though. i'll wave to you on tv.

I'll be wearing gold on Saturday. Just got my ticket!!!!!!!!! It's a good excuse to buy a kelly green irish shirt, seeing I don't already have one.

I'm so pumped! GO IRISH

I'm into green outs, white outs, whatever outs-my GameDay T-shirt willmost likely be covered by green (weather) -however - most schools outs are lead by student bodies and as been discussed in many threads -the entire student body equals most schools sophomore class. ND is a subway alumni constituency / stadium crowd (as opposed to the Wal mart Wolverines who don't go to games) the color thing just has never worked at that stadium. I've been to almost every game there since '61.

btw, is it me or does anybody else think that this has to be a near perfect execution by our beloved boyz??

i feel like this game needs to go along the same lines as the michigan game last season for us. that game everything kind of went our way.
