Sorry guys, I'm in complete disagreement here. Sam Young (and the O-line) has finally started live up to the hype - thank you Frank Verducci!!! He has them playing with fire, with technique, and they play through the whistle. Now we're going to get mad at them for playing with the fire we've been waiting for??? Yeah, they have some holding penalties that we'd all like to get fixed, however watch the games again and you will remember that some if them are complete bullshit calls. I'm not blaming bogus calls on our players.
As for Young's complete b.s. penalty in the 4t quarter, I watched that play again, and I slowed it down. It was total bs by the cheating refs. The runner was on his way down as Young engaged his guy and then stomped him. Young was ahead of the play--he doesn't have eyes in the back of his head. Sam had the guy 1/3 of the way down to the ground when the first whistle blew ... there's no way he could have stopped the block, and I don't want him to stop his block. I'm glad Verducci finally has them finishing blocks. Maybe Sam Young could have pulled up a bit (just a bit), but that was just another b.s. call by a Big Ten crew. 2 weeks in a row.
So Young is finally showing some balls, ripping people's helmets off, and generally playing like the pissed off S.O.B. we've been waiting for. Now he needs to find the happy medium, but hell, I'll take over-the-top Sam Young than softie Sam Young any day of the week.
And guys, we finally have a running game!!!!!!!
