Rose: SC vs. Texas
Oragne: Va Tech vs. Penn State
Sugar: Georgia vs. Ohio State
Fiesta: Notre Dame vs. West Virginia

The logic here is avoiding a Virginia Tech-West Virginia rematch. Ohio State vs. Georgia is a TV made game, Va Tech and Penn State would be if PSU is 10-1 and the best available #4 for Va Tech to state their case.

This is assuming all of these teams win out.

Not the matchup I'd want, but it would be fun to beat WVA again. Their constant yapping is humorous-from the "what if Major Harris was healthy" to the "join the big east of get out" crap, they are an entertaining lot. WVU fans HATE ND. I was at Kings Island here in Cincinnati a few weeks back and was wearing an ND windbreaker. I walked past a group of 4-5 guys, a couple wearing WVU shirts. They started booing me. I turned and replied something about their 0-fer record against ND. Then I wished them luck against Vtech (their opponent that weekend) and walked away.

WVU would be favorable compared to the defenses of VaTech, PSU, OSU and UGA. But that is elementary to anyone that follows the game. We've seen what ND can do against SC, and I think they could put up points on Texas as well.

If ND's offense can knock Tennessee around tomorrow, I'd feel more confident going up against the likes of these.

With or without Major Harris, WVU never stood a chance that day. NONE.

How does Georgia leapfrog all the way back up? Losing late in the season is a big blow in the BCS and them losing to Florida was huge last week.

Also, I'd assume they expect both LSU and Bama to lose?

Dimwhitlock would probably consider ND racist (against Hispanics) if we played WVU and beat them, as their coach is Rich Rodriguez.....They'd CERTAINLY be the easiest of the opponents mentioned and the best shot a first bowl WIN in over a decade, but I'd rather see us play PSU or VaTech.

I wouldn't mind that match-up at all. Not saying it is a cake walk but a Fiesta Bowl title would be very nice in terms of recruitng and momentum for next year.

Disagree. I want a big matchup in the bowl game (VaTech, PSU, UCLA, whoever) if they win tomorrow and get into the BCS. Beating West Virginia to break the streak would just seem cheap to me for some reason...

I want to play a team that everyone thinks we have no chance in beating, Va Tech, would be a great team to play.

I want Ohio St. I live here. I loathe them. I want to beat them and shut them up about 95-96.

I remember that game, Terry Glenn burned our secondary for at least 1 long touchdown. Yea, that game pissed me off. I'd like to play Ohio St. or W. Virginia, but I don't want anything to do with Va. Tech either (or Texas). Not this year anyway.

AGREED. Beating the F$@&eye$ would be sweet and would start the CDub pound of flesh revenge tour. Pity we can't add Nebraska to the schedule now and show them a SEA OF BLUE.

Pound of flesh revenge tour. I like it.

Also ashame we'll probably never get the Beavers again. We will be aspiring to much bigger bowls than them.

If USC and Texas are in the Rose I would think ND would want Va Tech but I don't think that will happen. We still have a lot of teams to jump before we are going to get the #3. Probably WVU would be the one but I don't think they're that good and the game would be Blah.

Anyhow there's a lot of football to be played before anything can be determined about the BCS. Those Rivals picks assume that everybody will win all of their remaining games. I wouldn't bet the farm on that.

The computers are oblivious but the voters know that Shockley was injured and didn't play against UF. Breaks of the game but a factor that the voters will consider especially if Shockley, healthy or not, leads UGA to wins over Auburn and GT and a win in the SEC Championship over LSU or Bama. Winning the championship does the trick regardless of the voters.

I've not been sold on UGA as a Top 5 team all season. They opened with a win over Boise St at home, beat SCAR by 2 at home, played a bunch of cupcakes, and had a 13 point win over Tennessee, their toughest opponent to date.

An interesting scenario occurred to me the other night... the Gator Bowl pits an ACC team against a Big East team, with the option of Notre Dame replacing the Big East.

Depending on how many ACC teams end up grabbing BCS slots, it's possible that the best available ACC team for the Gator Bowl would be... (drum roll, please)... Bastahd College. And if Notre Dame somehow gets left out of the BCS hunt, the Gator Bowl would surely prefer ND over the Big East's #2 team.

How's that for a consolation prize?

Of course, if that's the game we get, I think it's safe to say that Charlie's boys will NOT be wearing green...

I'd put them in green jersey's and give BC the ball to open both halves. And if Dillingham was still in school I'd start him at QB.

What happens if an unbeaten Alabama gets nipped by a point on a time expired FG in the SEC Championship by a once beaten UGA?

UGA gets the automatic bid, Bama and UGA both finish in Top 5.

I never thought of that. What about if UCLA wins out and USC has 1 loss?

Fortunately UCLA lost and that scenario can't happen BUT if it had ...

The Bowls get to pick the At Large teams from the pool of "eligible" teams.
But if both Bama and UCLA are once beaten and in the top 8, they will go to the BCS bowls.

The Irish are BCS eligible with a #12 or better finish but to be guaranteed a BCS bowl must finish in the Top 6. A 9-2 ND would be the more attractive At Large candidate but if picked over a once beaten conference runner up there would be a brouhaha. When ND last played in a BCS Bowl the Fiesta Bowl was all set to chose VT v. ND. But the PAC 10 commish blew up and threatened to take the PAC 10 out of the BCS unless Oregon or Oregon St got a BCS bid. The BCS acquiesed and Oregon St went to the Fiesta and VT went to the Gator.

Notre Dame wins their last three.

Let the dust settle as it may so that the silver and bronze medals can be decided to that of USC's gold.

The only team that can be SC is the Seattle Seahawks.

ND "beats" USC with Instant Replay.

And there will be Intant Replay in the bowls.

yeah, but not on 4th and 9.

They lost. I'm coping with it fine.

No moral victories.
