How can Shanahan keep him in?! Visibly injured, Dr. James Andrews even warned them something like this could happen....why risk him!

I was asking this same question in the game thread. It was obvious near the end of the second possession, which was still in the 1st quarter, that he reinjured it. He played the next 3+ quarters hobbled and with very little productivity. Thus, IMO there was no reason whatsoever to keep him in. Then he ended up hurting it even worse at the end. Really a shame. I've liked Shanahan, but he just didn't make the right move on this one.

The sad thing is they were still running options, and he would limp directly out of bounds, you could tell he didn't feel right on it. Sometimes you gotta know when to yank the plug

Shanahan had to have known the dangers, he totally dodged the question at the presser. Why was Dr Andrews even there?

It was a WTF moment for me when I saw him limping back to the huddle without Shanahan pulling him.

Should've been pulled after the 4th drive. Hurt it on the second... then the third he was ineffective... and on the fourth it became clear that it wasn't a fluke and he was really hurting/not going to be effective the rest of the game.

Shannahan made the wrong call but that's a realllllllly tough decision to make in the middle of a playoff game especially if RGIII is saying "put me in, I can play."

Depending on the extent of the re-injury, this might have been a catastrophic decision though that affects next year.

Perhaps the old wisdom that a running QB will not last in the NFL is correct. This may only work in the college game where the defenses are much less potent. In college, most teams do not have even one NFL caliber defensive player let alone eleven with eleven more in reserve.
The A&M QB will have the same problem; and I suspect any coach running the spread offense will also fail.
Too bad, as it is really exciting and fun to watch these great athletes in the spread.

Thats why Chip Kelly Oregon put up huge numbers but once or twice a season get shutdown when they face a real defensive line.

Brutal. Seems like typical for the Skins though.

This news both saddens me and pisses me off...No reason why he should've been in the game after halftime...heads had better roll...Couple this with the national championship game and I'm an emotional wreck!!

Looks like that news station has deleted that article now. Could have either jumped the gun, or been wrong. Hope for the best Skins fans.

Chris Clemons tore his ACL in the game as well.

ESPN:
The MRI performed on Seahawks pass-rusher Chris Clemons revealed he suffered a torn ACL and other significant damage in his left knee that will require surgery and end his season, according to a source close to the player.
