I know this question should have been asked a long time ago, but I just realised the other day that I didn't have a clue as to what the answer was.

How many kids redshirted if any from last years class, and who were they?

ND doesn't redshirt, the players have to apply for a 5th year.

10 guys haven't played yet this year out of 28.

Zach Frazer and Demetrius Jones, Barry Gallup Jr., Leonard Gordon, Paddy Mullen, Kallen Wade, Luke Schmidt, Chris Stewart, Dan Wenger and Bartley Webb.

Did you mean who hasn't played for the class that signed in Feb '06 or who didn't play last year from the class that signed in Feb '05?

from last year's frosh class, players who did not play as freshmen who are eligible for a 5th year:

Evan Sharpley, Derrell Hand, Kyle McCarthy

I believe that's it.

of course, DJ Hord is now eligible for a 5th year due to his injury this season.

huh, I'd never seen that link before. Well, I'm on the 4th floor of my dorm looking out from my desk, so I'm hoping that it is just the wind blowing snow around and that it isn't really snowing that hard. but from where I'm at right now, it looks bad.... or good if you like snow.

I doubt it of the OLs in your post. People don't usually start playing in the 9th game of the season. I can see the guys that have already played getting time but doubt first timers will.

Charlie has consistently said that he'll play people when they're ready to play. It's unfortunate that ND didn't have some of the easier games up front but they didn't. Remember with linemen it a question of building strength up to Div 1 levels, adjusting to the faster speed and better technique, as well as learning all the plays and blocking assignments.

As opposed to playing all of them for the sake of playing I'd rather see a entire line get time as they did against Navy building some unity for next year.
