IrishUncleBill on GoldHelmet said the Mizzou Rivals site is reporting that Muniur will transfer.
I am so sick of hearing people with the Oh well, that is one more recruit for the incoming class. At some point, these guys leaving were the ones you were excited about back in the day. Don't be so fast to throw out guys like yesterday's laundry. The answer is NOT always another recruit. The kids we currently have can answer many of the issues. Let's hope Munir and all the others stay. Remember, Weiss once said that Munir had woosh. That speed could help at CB. Best of luck to Munir.
kmoose,
I will disagree with you on this one. Munir does have talent. He showed some flashes as a freshman, but he needs some time to physically mature. He does not have the natural strength of Hughes or Allen, but given the time to mature could be a really productive player. I think he would find a good niche at CB. Let's hope he stays. As for the don't let the door hit you remark. We have no idea what is going on behind closed doors and Munir has carried himself as a good representative of ND. He sure does not appear to be another DJ who I wish the door would have hit in the ass when he left.
Guys,
Come on, on most teams with proper roster depth, you would not even know about most players potential until their junior year. We are in a situation where we are forcing many many of our kids to play way earlier than they should. Munir is a perfect example. If he had been given about 2 years to grow, strenghen and understand the system, I believe he would come on strong for his junior and senior seasons.
This isn't a done deal yet either.....wait till all of the facts come out!
Might be wrong on this but didn't he see time both his Fr. and Soph seasons at N.D. ? If so and he transfer he would only have one yr. of elgebility left. That makes me wonder even more about this info from the Mizzou board.
CB depth will be the biggest issue on the team next year if he transfers (kicking aside). If Lambert and Ferrine leave, we are left with.
Walls
McNeil
Baxter
Gordon
and Freshmen CB/S
and Safety's
What about Gary Gray? Granted he didn't play this year due to injury, but was there during spring ball plus around this fall observing.
Yep - he'll probably make a run at a starting job. And if Prince does transfer, I'd be really surprised if the staff doesn't offer to bring Lambert back.
