1. Tommy Rees looked pretty good. Missed a few throws, and still can't dance his way out of a wet paper sack, but he looked pretty good, otherwise. Definitely looked good enough to lead this team to 10 or more wins.

2. It doesn't look like we have an All-American tailback on the team. However, it does look like the committee will probably give us All-American production back there.

3. That goes hand in hand with the O line grading some serious road for the backs.

4. TJ Jones looks to be continuing to mature as a wide receiver. He also looked to be very explosive once he caught the ball. I hope he gets a ton of recognition this year.

5. Special Teams has GOT to get better, if we want to play with the big dogs.

6. The defense looked solid, but not as good as I was hoping they would. They seemed to always be a step or two slower than they needed to be. Hopefully that was just a little rust, and they will shake it off for next week. But Temple is NOT a good team. I was expecting the D to look more dominant than they did.

7. Not a bad day, really. There were plenty of things to be excited about, and yet there are obviously many things that still need to be worked on. I would expect that Kelly will be questioning the manhood of some players, this week, in trying to get them ready for what should be a much tougher test, in Michigan.

Temple had a good game plan and their qb played well. They are on the uptick.

I know we don't want to show Michigan much, they got tons of tape already. They know what they are gonna get. Coach Martin had me scratching my head with his play calling at times.

Jaylon> councell

Folston is very special

Amir, cam, ga3, folston, Bryant at this point...

Kicking game....YIKES

I agree with just about everything. The one thing that puzzled me was the defensive playcalling. I feel like we either blitzed the house or simply rushed the three down linemen without much variety in between.

Daniels is going to be huge this year. Between him and TJ, we are going to be solid on the outside.

DL didn't look as explosive as usual. Didn't pressure Reilly as much as we should have.

D had trouble with the play action and zone read.

And my final point, we easily should have put up more than 28 points. Other than that, was a good win to start the season.

Let's the D turns it up a notch against Michigan next week.

Positives:

Offensive line is the strong point.
Jones looks like he is gonna be a stud this year. And I think he'll break a punt return for a td this year.
I think Kelly went vanilla on the playcalling very early. I think the offense has much more in store for next weekend and beyond.
Typical defense on the "bend but not break" style, they did blitz alot more than usual though. I also think they went vanilla at some point.
Daniels looks like the real deal.

Negatives:
I am not a fan of Atkinson at all returning the ball or even being a main running back. I have no idea what else he could do, but I swear it looks like he is running in quick sand when he touches the ball. He has to have the slowest acceleration in the history of football.
Nix looked all out of sorts.
My god can we get anyone in there to kick a field goal? Maybe Kelly pulls a weis and gets someone from the dorms?

This game doesn't tell the tale of ND. I honestly can't say how next week will go, I hope I'm right on the vanilla (not show our hand) play with the offense and defense.

1) Tommy was great.

2) WRs are great.

3) Second string DL isn't even close to the best in the country.

4) DBs are really good, I won't call them great until I see more from the safety position(s).

5) OL was great.

6) Cam is good, GAIII is exactly what we expected, still excited to see the freshman more, and Carlisle played well.

7) LBs are literally average.

8) My man, Ishaq, was quiet, but so was the whole DL.

9) Niklas is a destroyer as a blocker.

10) Special teams is really bad.

11) Kelly trusts the freshman a lot.

12) Jaylon and Greg Bryant are straight sexy looking. Borderline homo.

13) **** Michigan.

Judging by the first five minutes, I think you are. Reesus could have picked apart that secondary all afternoon but after we were up a couple of scores "HB Dive" became the call of the day.

I agree with all of this, but I'll ad that after adjustments at halftime, our D looked better

I hated it as a fan watching and wanting us to score 70, but if it means less tape for UofM to study, I'll survive

Biggest shortfall of the team is speed middle backers. Teams are going to exploit Carlo and fox in coverage all year. Plus we are going to be very susceptible to able draws. However I think the o is going to be legit.

I'm not the coach, but I think they need to consider Councell inside with Romeo backing up Jaylon.

There's no way Councell is worse than out MLBs.

And I finally feel confident that on weeks our D is still learning and improving, we can score enough to overcome a mediocre D game

GAIII is exactly what we expected.

Every time they run that stupid stretch-draw-counter play, I want to put my foot through the TV. It worked once against Oklahoma but it has to be the most maddeningly frustrating thing to watch develop and collapse on itself.

That, and the pistol is a stupid freaking formation.

I think our Defense was worse than '6 points' but I think our offense was much better than '28 points' also.

Kelly said : We're all in it together is what I wanted before I signed. All communication has to be open

Did Troy only have one catch? Hopefully that means he was not called upon as to not show to much for next week.

What were people's take on the safety play? No one stood out to me.
