Here's the thing guys. All this bitching and moaning about Rees is pointless. Rees gives our team the best chance to win. Otherwise Kelly would put someone else in at qb. I'm in no way saying I'm pleased with the qb play. This is just where our qb situation is right now. You have to remember, this was Rees' 8th game. And it's not like he was a 5 star qb, who was expected to come in and be ready to play right away. Some growing pains should be expected. Our team as a whole has much higher expectations, than Rees as an individual should have. Jimmy Clausen was still struggling mightily at this point in his career, and his individual expectations were much higher. However, the team expectations his sophomore year were extremely low, so to people on here, his individual expectations were lowered. I think the hardest position to be put in sports is being the new developing qb on a team that is not new or developing at any other positions. People look at this ND team, see the experience and depth, and expect them to win now. Unfortunately for this team, the position that has the largest effect on the outcome of the game is one of the few positions where we don't have a skilled AND experienced option. Rees is and should be our starter, because for better or worse he gives us the best chance to win. With that being the case, maybe we just need to reevaluate our expectations for this year's Irish squad.
