We tryed to get the ball to our playmakers. I understand where you are coming from but you also have to see my side of this aswell. Throwing the ball was a high percentage play in that situation.

I looked at two of my buddies in the bar and said quick slant or tight end drag. Throwing a 30 yard fly/jump ball was not the correct call in that situation and it is not high percentage. He made a piss poor play call.

Sorry, I just don't understand... You are already winning... Why are you trying to go for the win? Run the fucking clock, ITS PRETTY EASY FROM THERE.

1) If we win next week against MSU, we will go 10-2 or 11-1 and get to a BCS Bowl

2) Allen will rush for 1000+ this year, Clausen will go for 3500+ and 30+ TDs and under 10 INTs, Floyd and Tate will both be over 1000 yards and 10+ TDs

3) The less mobile QBs we see, the better

4) We need to use Rudolph more, Evans really messed up that 3rd and 10 but he needs to be our 3rd receiver

5) Ethan Johnson needs to play D-end

I don't remember the formation but there must have been more wr's on that play. Tate probley ran that fly to clear out the area for a check down but Jimmy thought he could get'em deep. Then Shaq cold have sealed it but...

If he calls a run on either second or third down and I can live with the loss. But not forcing Michigan to burn one more timeout is unspeakably foolish. Go read Forcier's comments on ESPN.com. He thanked Charlie profusely for not running the ball on second or third down.

Like I said........you can question the playcalling. I do, too. But the bottom line is......both of those plays WOULD have worked, if the players on the field had made the plays. If those players make those plays, the game is probably over, and ND wins. So they are just as much to blame as Weis. You can question the playcalling, but you can't say Weis blew the game because of it.

On those 2 huge pass attempts if we would have caught them, charlie would be considered a genius. just the way the cookie crumbles

jimmy clausen will have a high number of interceptions this year.

he is merely chucking the ball much of the time and the receivers have simply been far superior to the competition. i am not looking forward to playing cbs who can turn their head and play the ball.

Throwing on 2nd down was a high percentage play it just didn't go our way. People should have been open. It wasn't a horrible call. Throwing on 3rd down was questionable but if Shaq hold on to that then its over. A draw probley would have been the best call. I mean if the defence did their job were not even talking about this right now.

It really is simple. 2 runs kills their time outs a first down ends the game.
Their was no way we were going to get a first down by running the ball. AA was hurt the other dude already fumbled and Huges is only effective in goalline situations.

I still would have questioned why he would throw such a low percentage throw. Especially when you HAD to have a first down.

Yah especially when they have 80 yards to go and no timeouts.

Yea but a team's options are severly limited if they have to move 60 yards to score without a timeout. Worst case scenerio could maybe have been a field goal to tie the game.

Guys,
PLEASE calm down on this being the end of the world. Did anyone expect us to go undefeated??? NO. UM caught every freakin break imaginable. Further, they got HUGE help from the zebra's. I never complain about the ref's, but this was ridiculous. If the 70 play by Rudolph was holding on Young, I give up. Driving a guy to ground is holding?????? Come on. What did Allen do to deserve the excessive celebration??

On the pass to Evans, if Jimmy either takes a little bit off of the ball (which you cannot blame him for zipping that pass in there, that is how you are taught to throw the deep out), or if Evans comes out of his break ready to catch the ball, that is a first down.

I just happened to catch the game on radio at this point, and Pinkett and Criqui both agreed that with Floyd in the game for this play, ND wins. Evans being a frosh just wasn't looking for the ball in time.

Blame Charlie if you want, I don't care, but remember this, Michigan is going to win a few more games than they lose this year. This is a game we should have won, yes, but it was also a team who is talented and playing at home. We'll be fine this year.

Jonesman you are right....the refs did their best to make this game harder on us. But in all reality, we should have never been in the position where the game's outcome could be placed in the hands of the refs. This team was supposed to be a contender.....that means taking care of teams like Michigan, especially with a frosh at the helm. It just goes to prove that either this team doesn't have the talent or the talent isn't utilized correctly...thats the debate.

I for one think we have plenty of good players with great talent.

Defense was terrible LB'S didn't make a play all Game. What happened to TE'O he didn't play much at all. We made there QB look all world. Floyd is the Best WR in College Football he cannot be stopped one on one. Allen was great wish we used he more. Clausen continues to shine. OLINE WAS GREAT. I Think ND is looking for A new DLINE becaue They have been terrible these first 2 games. We should not have blitzed so much because we did not keep contain at all on tate. We blitzed and it made it easier on him becaue we didnt' get to him at all. Walls has to realize that he had safety help on the inside. OUR DB'S ARE TERRIBLE. We are going to have to outscore every team if we want to win. WORD TO THE DEFENSE LEARN HOW TO PLAY DEFENSE AND STOP LEAVING THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD WIDE OPEN

I agree the defense is horrid. Why is it that we can't slow down anyone?? Even Nevada ran all over us and should have scored had they not coughed up the ball. Our defense is in need of serious help.

Our defensive line is absolutely awful. Bench Toryan Smith, too.

Does anybody else think that Kerry Neal is MUCH better as a linebacker than he is as a defensive end?

If Weis called two running plays and we lost you would be on here bitching about how Weis blew the game with bad coaching. You would be complaining about how Weis always likes to sit on a lead and our run game sucks. Weis went for the jugular. He wanted to end the game right then and there because the defesne had been struggling to stop the spread and it bit him in the ass. If our players had stepped up and played like veterans this game would have been decided much earlier.
