Haven't read the other posts so sorry if someone else has posted any of these.

1. EG still has a lot to learn. He needs to forget the previous game and play like he has something to prove.
2. BK had several plays called that were going to be big, but the Stanford D blew up the O-line.
3. Need to leave the O-line intact and let them get acclimated with each other.
4. Defense played great, but I'd like to see BVG show blitz and bail out once in a while.
5. These youngsters are doing great. Wait until they get more experience.
6. EG came through in the clutch as did the whole team. Mark of a winner.
7. Things are definitely trending the right way.

Wondering if we'll crack the Top 5, beating #14 and #'s 2,3,4, & 6 losing.

EG needs to keep the ball more often on the read option
EG needs to take off and run more often. Looks like he didn't want to get punished by the Stanford D.
What happened to screens to the RBs?
I would like to see the wildcat with Bryant
Short yardage should be under center with Tyler Latua as FB.
While getting back the frozen 5 would add to the depth not sure anyone but DD should start even KVR.
EG needs to hold the ball less unless he decides to run.
OL played awesome on last series and EG made quick decisions.
Chris Brown finally showed up big. EG throws fast ball.

Awesome win and Shaw can quit bitching. What a winer. Yes the catch by Robinson was a catch MayCock the ball bounced off his hand not the turf.
Almost all games went our way today. Did u see the end of the USC game? Pure magic!

Best we've got so far.

Almost incomprehensible that we can't watch full highlight material on ESPN when we win anymore.

Elmer needs to be replaced now, its past laughable. Replacement needs a game before fsu. Put him on the other side atleast or something

While Elmer wasn't great out there today, he was by no means the worse player on our OL today. That would go to Hegarty.

Random observations:

I thought our defense looked a lot better than Stanford's. Maybe Stanford's offense is just that much worse but they couldn't really do anything except on that late TD drive.

ND's offense is a shadow of itself when EG isn't much of a running threat. Not sure on a day like today why they wouldn't just run a few more straight runs, especially draws?

Loved the final defensive play call. Shumate flying down the middle and Jaylon leveling his blocker and was right behind Shumate as he made the tackle.

1. I would semi relax on Golson- every human is going to sruggle more than usual except for 5 yard passes in 35 degree, rainy weather WITH 20 MPH winds. If you have ever thrown a football in a 20mph wind you will know what I mean.

2. Golson could run a lot more if he wanted to, it would be a nightmare to defend.
3. Haggarty did get abused.
4. DBs are pretty stout,

My post game observation: this Stanford team went up and down USC's defense. When we get to that game, take the over, no matter what.

What a great defense we have. So much depth and speed. I'd take them over any D in the country right now, including the one we just played.

I was not in love with Kelly's playcalling. I feel like we didn't establish the run early enough, and we ran it in weird situations. McDaniels did a good job pass blocking but he wasn't doing much on the ground. I with Folston had more chances to run it. Hard to judge Golson and the receivers when it was so wet and freezing out. Just not great weather for having a good offensive performance.

Hunter Smith should have gloves superglued to his hands. Get it together, dude.

Jaylon Smith for Perpetual Heisman.

The students who left at halftime can fuck off for good.

I had this same thought as well. Stanford was in the red zone against USC 9 times. With USC's lack of depth, we should be able to move the ball against them without much trouble...especially if our line can start to gel some.

For whom ever asked, Jaylon Smith had 14 tackles, 7 solos, I believe. Schmidt had 7; Onwualu almost had a manslaughter.

Cole Luke had two picks, a forced fumble, and four tackles if I am not mistaken.

Once again, I would like to know who has a better front than Stanford in college football. I suppose there are teams with more exotic linebackers, but overall, I doubt we see a team with this kind of front seven all season. They were a lot quicker than the old massive Stanford defenses, but still massive! Anderson was as good as I have seen anywhere all season.

The first half was a little rough, but the second half was outstanding on the part of the offensive line. They seemed to jell, and work better in combination blocking, except when Anderson blew Elmer up. The ND offensive line looked like they outlasted at least, or maybe wore down that brutal Stanford defense! (To me.)

I'm having one of the best sports days ever! I'm hyped about the win,

BUT

I'm wondering...did our defense really look that good?... because their offense is horrendous.

Our defense is really THAT good. Stanford has been able to move the ball no problem this season, but have struggled when they entered the red-zone. They played relatively mistake-free football, which they hadn't done all season, but ND shut them down everywhere on the field. Stanford only had 1 legitimate scoring drive.

- Great win!

- Cole Luke is a stud.

- Defense/BVG is awesome. Who calls an all out blitz with 11 seconds to go? lol.

- Hard to tell from behind the goal post, but OL seemed to struggle on the ground.

- I get complaining about Golson's overall game, but he's playing great for the WRs he has right now. We need DD back. There's little to no separation.

- Cody Riggs fielding punts makes me nervous, lol.

- Tranquill is a player. Every time he's on the field, I have more confidence in the defense.

- Couldn't be happier for Koyac and really this whole team and coaching staff.

Anybody complaining about the drops, Golson, the holds, or anything clearly was not at the game. That was the worst football weather I have ever seen. The only take away from the game is that ND '14 has guts.

# 2,3,4,6,8,14,15,16,17,18,19 teams all lost

But ND won!!!

That speaks as much to the partisans that get to vote in these polls and the talking heads driveling all week as it does about parity in college football. I guarantee if Vegas was in charge or there was some monetary incentive to "getting it right" we would have a much different poll.

? Really?

I was really terrible, there is no way the misery of the situation can be picked up on by the cameras. Maybe im extra biased because i had an isle seat, but it was the coldest i think ive ever been. The constant fine mist coupled with the steady freezing wind got everything soaking wet and cold.
