1. What a great first half!! THAT is what we have all been waiting to see from this team.
2. There are no moral victories for the players. You are judged on whether you win or lose, and they lost. But, as fans, we can now see what the players probably have been able to see all year long: this team can play with the elite teams in the country.
3. Credit has to go to the Florida State coaching staff. Their adjustments at the half made all of the difference in the game. They were able to handle Notre Dame's pass rush in the 2nd half, particularly in the 3rd quarter.
4. Good things happen, when you commit to running the ball, and stick with it.
5. I still think Kelly is afraid to completely turn Golson loose to run. Golson looks hesitant when the pocket breaks down. It's almost as if he wants to run, but has to be absolutely sure that the conditions are right. Sometimes he needs to just take off, with a purpose.
6. Don't blame the refs. There were questionable calls on both sides of the LOS, and the Offensive PI that took the touchdown off of the board was a legit call. There were actually TWO guys blocking while the ball was in the air, over there.
My game ball goes to Sheldon Day.......... he was disruptive all night long, and was unblockable on FSU's 3 and out on their last drive.
